This specific model of Pelican cases is the best gun case you can buy IMHO, water and air tight and very strong. I was able to fit my hunting rifle (with a scope) as well as a 12g shotgun and my 10mm pistol all in in the case easily and now have all my guns stored safely and securely whenever I take them out as well as in my home. The only thing I will say on a negative side is that it is not very easy to cut the foam out cleanly,make sure you have a brand new very sharp razor blade or scalpel to cut it with. To get the shape and size I wanted to fit my guns properly I just laid each gun on top of a piece of cardboard,traced around the gun and transferred the exact shape to the cardboard,cut it out and laid the cardboard stencils onto the foam so I could adjust the position of them all to find the best fit for all 3 guns together. Once I was satisfied with the positioning of all 3 guns and how they fit in the case I transferred the shape to the foam by using a sharpie to outline the cardboard stencil onto the foam and cut them out with a razor blade. The case is slightly expensive but for the protection you get and considering one of my guns is my fathers 1963 Belgium made rifle I was happy with the cost and consider it to be a very good investment and the case will last for a lifetime so is well worth the money! The latches are very strong and close securely and tight and there are lock holes to use 4 padlocks to keep it from being opened by anyone either in transport or at home,this means it will keep your children from getting into it and playing with something they should not have access to as well as keeping your guns secure while in transport on the airlines. Well designed and perfect for the purpose they are made for. These are also the same cases used by US military too so that alone should tell you they are high quality.If you love your guns and want them to be safe in any weather,storage or transport conditions then you will love this case! For me I store two rifles and two pistols in this case. It fits perfectly with enough wiggle room to add accessories. I’m not sure what else you can put in it but as a gun case this works perfectly and acts as a “safe” with pad locks. You can easily conceal it at home and it seems to work perfectly blending into other things. I really like it and highly recommend. It’s important to use a tape measure to get a good idea of storage. For a single rifle you might want the other models like the 1720 which is great to carry one rifle and maybe two pistols. ... show more

I used this case to transport four Spyderbeam 12-meter (40-foot) fiberglass masts as a checked bag on a commercial flight for an Amateur Radio emergency preparedness exercise. Like all Pelican cases, it is SOLID. The included foam was easy to shape to hold the four objects and keep them from knocking against each other. My masts arrived without incident and my event was successful. The bottom line is that Pelican cases just work. I have five or six of them now in widely different sizes, and I've never had any issues, despite being used in rough, outdoor conditions. No equipment has ever gotten wet. No equipment has ever been damaged. You pay a bit more, but you get what you pay for. Think of it as insurance to protect your gear. ... show more
