After a lot of research I ordered this tandem kayak for use with my wife in the estuary down the street. It's a nice one - stable, comfortable seats, and roomy for two adults. At 67 pounds it's a bit heavy and bulky but I doubt you can find a tandem kayak of this quality that weighs less. Overall, I am happy with that part of the purchase. The original delivery arrived with the keel broken off. If there is a flay in the design, it's the fragile nature of the keel's mounting and you must bu mindful of this when moving it outside of water. I thought - no problem - I can just get a replacement part from the manufacturing. Service is through Confluence Outdoors - when you contact them the recording is very direct in stating you cannot speak with a human - go to the website and fill out a form. I did this (the drop-downs are not really accurate for shipment damage BTW) and no response in 2 weeks. Tried through the Amazon website as there is a support link - and it takes you to the same recording. Here's what's crazy - they sell the replacement keel on the site for $32 - so you know it's available. I was going to do that on my own dime, but there was a warning that orders were being processed slowly for some reason. How wasteful - to return the kayak and get a replacement when the part is / should be readily available. Based on another review calling our Confluence, I went ahead and ordered a replacement kayak - got this one much quicker and it came in one piece. Summarizing, I like the Pelican Argo 136XP tandem kayak and am happy with the purchase. But having to deal with a complete lack of customer service by the manufacturer was disappointing and took a bit of the positive lustre off the purchase. This is just a great kayak. Much better than the store brand from a sports store local to us. It’s heavy, but light enough for us to carry together from our shed out to the lake. We kayak along the shore of Lake Michigan and it’s sturdy for our 7 year old to ride and tracks nicely.

Took the kayak out for the first time and we had so much fun, the seats were very comfortable and able to adjust if needed. I will say its a bit heavy and will definitely need two people to carry it once unloaded. The only issue i had is the center holder is not very secure. I put my phone and keys in there and a few minutes later they completely fell through the compartment and got a bit wet, but other then that I love it. ... show more

2 stars because it floats. This thing is incredibly heavy. They missed the boat on using lighter materials to build this….boat. This comes to you much lighter in color than pics show, but all good for us. Feels very heavy even for 2 adults...be aware. We utilized the built-in cooler(live well) that is located behind the back seat. It is very large & we packed drinks & a lunch with ice packs...so much loving this feature though I thought we would flip when fiance was maneuvering around to pull things from there...lol. Very roomy seating & leg room...a 🦒 could easily fit in there. We enjoyed our day on the water & got lots of folks looking at our awesome kayak! ... show more

    • Missing Parts
The customer service from the manufacturer is absolutely shameful. When I received the Kayak from Amazon the Keel Extension was damaged and the hardware missing. Amazon recommended contacting the manufacturer to remedy the damaged part. Pelican now markets there kayaks through Confluence Outdoor. I attempted to contact Confluence on multiple occasions and each time was kicked out of their system and told to call back. When I finally got through to a real person I was told to complete a form on their website following which I would be contacted by a representative. It’s been over a week now and not a peep from Confluence Outdoor. It appears as though they would rather have me return the boat via Amazon for a full refund as opposed to sending me a replacement part (approximately $50 value on their website). The customer service at this company is extremely poor and given that, I will never purchase another Pelican product. ... show more
