This cooler is great. I have had it for two year now. It’s our dedicated side x side riding cooler out on the trails. It has taken a lot of abuse and still looks great and the latches work perfectly. The only thing I wish it had was a drain plug and a tray for the inside. The insulation keeps the ice for a few days. The size is perfect for our side x side. I travel all over the country with this thing to keep my food cold. It gets beat up rattling around in the back of my work truck all day every day while working. Besides a few scratches there's nothing wrong with it, it's like new, it's fallen off the tailgate, i use it as a step stool from time to time, stuff gets tossed on top of it, around it, things fall on it. It's tough. I haven't actually done a full test on how cold it stays and how long ice lasts. I use freezer packs so my food doesn't get wet from ice. I've used ice a few times and it seems to last several days, it stays very cold. My ice packs don't do a whole lot, as I don't use many, but even on hot days it keeps my food chilled so it doesn't spoil. The lid will also get warm and you can feel the warmth on the inside, if it's in direct sunlight on a hot day. With ice this shouldn't be an issue. It holds plenty of drinks or food, it's a nice size especially when you have more vertical space rather than horizontal. I expect this thing will last me years to come, even with heavy use. ... show more

I have had my eye on a Yxxx for years! I finally saved up my pocket change to splurge and as I was looking on Amazon I saw this Pelican cooler pop up. As I read the reviews, examined the features and saw the price I had no choice but to change my mind. As usual Amazon got it to me fast and well packaged. My cooler did not have a scratch or dust/ white powder on it. There was no issue with the seal either; It was immaculate. The shape of this cooler is so useful for us and it fits the perfect amount of cans and bottles. It is much easier to fit in the back of the SUV with luggage for a road trip because of its shape. I mainly use it for road trips and taking it to watch soccer. It serves as a great seat, table or foot rest and the cup holders and bottle opener are so useful and speak to the excellent design. Really happy I found this awesome cooler. It has kept ice for over three days, could probably hold it longer but I have not needed to find out. GREAT product by Pelican! So far i love this cooler. I picked this brand over the mythical snow monster brand mainly for 2 reasons. First, its a good deal cheaper than a model of comparable size from the other, and second, for the button latches. I dont really like the other style with those rubber T shaped latches, just my personal pref. Did my pelican come with the infamous gasket gap.... yes, it did. Did it shatter my reality, no. It took all of 10 seconds to pull up the last 3 inches of one side of the gasket, pull it a little forward towards the other side, and push it back down into the channel it sits in. Very simple fix. If you are put off on the idea of purchasing this cooler due to the numerous reports/complaints about the gasket, i would not let that be the deciding factor as to why you would not consider this brand. Should it come perfect, that would be nice, but mine and many others haven't. The handle is also very nice to grip, its a bit of a squishy or soft rubber that feels better than hard plastic. The cooler is on the heavy side empty, but most are that have such thick insulation and are well made. I got the gray with the green interior, love the bright color on the inside. Easy to see what you are digging through. If i end up having problems with this item down the road, i will update this with those problems. For now, i would buy this again if needed, and would consider buying some of the larger models in the future. ... show more

The "cup holders" molded into its lid are just too small (to hold my YETI 42 OZ Tumbler) which is the sole reason I ordered this darned thing. Now all four of those "cup holders" are just an eyesore and my YETI Tumbler keeps falling to the ground every few minutes, breaking its straw. Other than that, this thing is really heavy and even heavier when full of ice or organs. It's nice to use as a seat for camping, and it does just barely fit behind my seat in my "XTRACAB" Tacoma Truck, so that's good. Besides the internal gasket having that major gap that lets liquids fall out and heated air enter to destroy my ice, I still like it and it really does retain ice much longer than my super-cheap igloo from wallzmartz. It's got a cool little cutout curve for my legs when carrying by the handle by my side, while walking. It's the perfect size, much better than that "OTHER" brand's 24 Liter or 14 Liter "Roadie" coolers. Those latches aren't nearly as nice as Pelican's either. I got this because all my other cases are made by the same company, and it's nice that they match, although sometimes I bring my mixing console camping instead of cold drinks, because I can't tell them apart. ... show more

I am very impressed with my new cooler. I have a large Yeti and wanted a smaller cooler for a one or two day outing. I could not bring myself to pay the Yeti price for a small cooler and decided to try this one for almost half the price and it was on sale. Very easy to open, handle is very sturdy and good quality ,kept our food and drinks cold for two days with an ice pack and ice. I would not hesitate to buy another pelican product or recommend this brand to my friends. ... show more

Edit: Tried it once more. It just may not work in Arizona. Too dry. Weather has been cold roughly 50-60degrees. When it was 70 out or even 60 the cooler was inside the house which has been cold as well. Opened only a few times. An entire bag of ice melted between 9am until 1pm the following day. These are the times I checked. Still, no ice was left. I checked at 5am as well, still lots of water but the pics are from 1pm the following day. So I have tried Rtic and now this. I have tried using ice, 30$ 5lb icepack, I have put coolers into fridge, already cold items into cooler, and all of the above at once. Ice barely last 24hrs, and the cooler and icepack do not last 24hrs. I guess I figured because tumblers are awesome that I could put cold items into this and they would stay cold for 3+ days with or without ice and especially with ice. How people can keep things freezing cold for an entire camping trip is beyond me, or the same ice for 3 days (mine melted completely, warm water.) **Note--the cooler was not opened more than lets say 3x in 24hrs. That is what I expect for this price, otherwise I have cheap walmart coolers that can hold ice for 5 days as long as I keep the ice full. This thing will keep things ice cold for 12hrs but again I expect more. Especially when you match the cooler with the ice pack. I do live in Arizona, not Maine. The weather has been lower than 80 degrees, and it was in an AC building all night for 12 hrs. I just left it outside in the garage to see if it is worth my money. It is not. (So that starts out 12hrs from 530pm-7pm cold building, then garage morning until roughly 4pm garage.) For people that do not know, 80 degrees here isnt terrible, 100 degrees is. Still these things work as well as a $30 dollar cooler or bag. Material probably last longer but no thank you. I guess I expect something like the cups. Keep hot drinks warm for 6 hrs, cold ice drinks cold for 24hrs, those are worth the money. ... show more

Why I love this cooler after 2 months of use: 1. It is put together like a German car. Solid all over with that unique thump that tells you it's closed tight. 2. It keeps things cold for days. Even after the ice melts (after 2 days locked in a very hot car in the middle of the summer in the south) the remaining ice/water keeps drinks icy cold for another 3 days. As a matter of fact I've never had anything in it that wasn't still very cold when it came out. 3. Cup holders! 4. It makes a stable seat that doesn't flex at all, even for a 250 lb man. The height is perfect for it, almost like it was designed for this purpose. 5. The side opposite the hinges has a curved cutout so it fits comfortably against your leg. You don't get beaten by a straight side. I considered buying a much more expensive cooler but I'm so glad I didn't. ... show more
