I own many pelican equipment, firearm and phone cases, all of which have taken a beating over the many years I’ve had them. This cooler is very nice and it’s a bit heavy for its size. The shelf is great for using ice packs instead of ice if you don’t want the contents to ever get wet because the ice will melt at some point. It’s spring, so I’ve only been able to test this in 82-87 degree weather so far. It stays ice cold for every trip I taken with it so far. I have some larger big brand name coolers and I actually prefer how much easier this one is to open. I also have another that has rubber typed pull tabs and those have degraded a bit over the last couple of years. This one has blue plastic flaps that snap the cooler closed but you don’t have to put your fingers underneath them and force them open. You instead press the small red button on them which disengages the tabs then you can easily lift the blue tabs without using any force. There’s also a small door on the very top that opens by pressing the small blue button near the top of the cooler. The bottle opener is magnetic so it holds the metal cap. Standard 16.9 ounce water bottles don’t fit standing upright while using the red shelf. They fit fine without it though or you can lay them down horizontally. It has four feet on the bottom that slightly raise it off the floor. The handle can be in any position you wish, resting on the front or back or it will stand on its own in the middle. If you look under the lid of the main compartment you’ll see a black, flexible silicone sleeve for holding items. It does have a little stretch for holding different sized items and it’s removable. There are a lot of nice features packed into this cooler. It’s great for my jeep as it holds enough for a day trip to the beach and leaves plenty of room in my wrangler for fishing supplies.
