My old igloo finally broke so I had to find a replacement and after looking long and hard I came to this Pelican. Its well made and ice seems to hold for at least 2 days (maybe 3), the handle on my last cooler broke mainly because I put a lot of weight in it (ice/drinks) but the handle on this Pelican looks much more rigid & durable. Its almost perfect, I wish it was about an in wider and taller, seems the 16 oz. Nalgene bottles I use make it a little tight for 5 of them. The tray to hold sandwiches is a nice addition, the holes in the tray allow the ice in the bottom to keep things cool, I wish it was about .03 thicker seems a little thin but it should last for a number of years. The lid on top to put utensils in is helpful, I would be careful about dropping something on it, the lid is a little thin and would probably bust. This cooler is a good size not to big and has excellent latches to keep the lid shut, overall its an excellent value compared to others in this size and price range. I live in my car , work 12 hour shifts , and this is everything i needed next to me . Try finding a hard cooler with a small storage dry box . There literally is none which blows my mind as most people want to carry meds , utensils , chargers , etc . With a little bit of jenga playing i can fit all my meals , water , energy drinks , and snacks in this thing . I don’t have to use as many cooler packs so it helps . It stays cold all day in the middle of SC summers , made very very well . Locks and closes nicely and it’s just the best thing ever my only complaint is the colors . I ordered the green moss or whatever it’s called . It’s mint .. kind of girly but i like the color so much i don’t even care . Prob throw a sticker or two on it and rock on . The storage dry box are is very thin . You arnt going to be able to put a med bottle in it . I just put all my tums and pepto meds in a sandwich baggie and rocked on . I had to make sure my phone charger and car keys lay very flat before closing . But again could be worse . Still a 10/10 on coolers size , functionality and quality ... show more

I like this cooler a lot, I may even love it! Ice retention could be better, but it’s not terrible either….still had ice at 48 hours. At 72 hours, ice was all melted but the inside of the cooler, tray, etc was still very cool. It was inside during this trial time. I doubt we will get comparable ice retention when it’s outside, but hopefully 24-36 hrs at least. I love the quality, size, weight and style of this cooler. It’s easy to open with one hand and it has a nice tray for food you want to keep dry. There is an area for an ice pack too, which is nice. The dry area for snacks or paperwork or most anything is nice as well. Overall, I am very happy with this little cooler! I waited a long time to buy it. Since I got it on Amazon Prime Days, it was about $25 cheaper. If it retains ice for more than 24 hours in our Florida heat, I will probably change to 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️?⭐️ ... show more

This is a top brand. Know for travel and camera cases and even mobile phone cases. Love the color. Recently used for the beach. Has a top compartment where keys, phones, and a kindle can fit. Inside came with a tray which others can charge up to 20+ for. Of course at 14qt not a ton of storage but a few beers, and wine coolers, sandwiches and snacks worked out well at beach. Pelican even has their own ice packs that fit this model similar to Yeti. Handle has good grip and easy to carry. Loaded up, little heavy. There is no "lock in place " on handle so it moves as your moving with in hand if you sway. Built in can opener which came in handy at beach for beer bottles. It was sort of hidden but in middle. Nicest feature, the push button latches! Work great no struggle with the rubber latches on others. This feature, along with top (almost hidden) compartment were reason I bought this. Cons This is by design (14qt) the ice melt rating is almost 2 days not 5 like other brands. For us, didn't matter as it's for car trips, beach fun and it does great job. Used Pelican ice packs and open and close several times at beach, the beer was ice cold. After several hours ice packs still frozen and contents cold. I would buy again when on sale and also go to next model up as it's taller to fit wine bottles. Didn't see the need for 200+ for that as have larger 45 model from another brand that works great for larger needs. ... show more

They worked so extremely well, took a serious beating in my humvee, held ice for so long, in the worst heat that I left fully convinced to go with Pelican for personal use.
