Great value, lots of power

Massive capacity, great value. To calibrate the BMS I let it fully charge, then left it plugged in several more hours while it balanced cells. Then ran it all the way until it shut off with a 1500W space heater, and charged it back up again. It was actually pretty well calibrated right out the box from the factory. Ran the space heater well over two hours. Critically for me, handled the load spike and ran my 1/2hp sump pump without hesitation. UPS mode seems to work fine. Be aware that like many units in its class while it's plugged into a wall AC outlet you are limited to drawing what a wall AC outlet can safely deliver, to get the full rated output you either have to unplug it or use the generator input instead. It's a nice unit and the trolley it comes with is pretty nice and rolls easily. However, a word of caution, this is at the limit of what I can lift very carefully up and down stairs one step at a time. Don't think your family will be easily moving this between floors in an emergency, it's not going to happen. Apart from the weight, it's been easy to use so far, no problems with the app and Bluetooth range seems pretty good - I can control it from e.g. upstairs. You can put it on wifi also but I tested that only very briefly. Seems to have shipped with the latest firmware already on it. Pretty easy to control from the panel, there's not a lot you really need to change in the settings. I updated the clock, turned on energy saver, and limited the charge rate to 50% so it didn't overload my circuits. So far so good.

It’s great

This is great I just got this about a week ago. This was for my place up north off grid . But the other day was 101 degrees power when out . First time I had used it I took it out of the box and turned it on it had 60% batteries life but it worked all night with fans and lights we hooked the fridge to life saving. I am going to get an another one for my house. I highly recommend

A few small quirks, but I'm pleased.

I waited a bit before reviewing, since I don't really know much of anything about Pecron. I've been running my 450 sf shop/studio, including a 110v mini-split (the runs 24/7) on an E3800 & three EP3800 expansion batteries, for several months now, with almost zero complaints. Working perfectly for my purposes. My only complaints are what seem to be just slightly annoying quirks (which might get worked out in a firmware update). 1. The batteries do not all drain close to the same. Out of the main unit, and three extra batteries, they'll end up ranging from 25% to 55%. This doesn't seem to change by fully charging to balance them all. 2. The temp setting to choose fahrenheit or celsius on the display keeps reverting back to the celsius symbol, while still displaying the unit temps in fahrenheit - which makes it look like they're running stupendously hot, until I realized what was happening, lol. 3. Sometimes it doesn't display the correct output wattage, but will show lower. I have tested, and verified, with a wattage meter. So ... a little quirky, but I can deal with it, until I get annoyed enough to look into any possible firmware updates - but working well, outside of those small issues. Now - if only the longevity will match the claims of how maby cycles these are good for - and if I don't have any parts of BMS fail - then I will continue to be pleased. Positive note: I did have questions early on for tech support, and received answers promptly, through both email & their Facebook account.

Pecron e3800lfp and my RV

Handles a 30 amp rv very well. The only problem I had was having the AC start when the fridge starts at exactly the same time while also running the microwave. Switching the fridge off or to gas solves that issue. You can restart the Pecron 3800 from your phone using the app though. While charging from shore power you only have 3600 watts. To get 4200 watts while charging, you need 600+ watts of solar. Let me know if I'm wrong.

Pretty Decent Power station. Comes with everything needed including wheels which you will need (These are heavy) and I am 71 yrs old. Haven't ran it to zero (0%) yet but to maybe 15/20% and charge fairly quickly 3/4 hours in full sun while pulling a constant 100/115 watt load (Router/POE Camera's and Modem) Also have the F5000 which I just got a few days ago and will review soon. Seems decent also. A little different but the same mostly except also has 240volts which I need. Edit: Each one alone can run a 1900 sq-ft home for hours during short 1-12 hours outage connected to circuit breaker panel. F5000 runs well and Stove/Oven. Will run longer in full Sun during day light.

My unit came plagued with issues — Tech Support is maliciously bad. They bricked my defective unit.

Bought the E3800LFP US 120V to sit between 30A shore power and my RV’s 30A inlet. Day one I charged it to 90%, hooked it up, and it worked. Unplugged runtime with the roof AC running was about 2 hours — better than I expected. Then the next charge cycle the unit showed no incoming power and started draining the battery. Shore power was live. I confirmed it by bypassing the PECRON; the pedestal was fine. The unit just was not detecting AC. That happened three times. It would drop out of UPS / pass-through, hammer the battery, then later “see” AC again on its own. I spent a day fighting support and the website before I found the actual cause: setting a 90% charge limit forces the unit out of UPS mode. It will sit on live shore power and discharge the pack as if the grid is gone. That is not in the manual. It is a useful behavior on solar or a generator. It is a bad surprise on grid power. Set the limit to 100% when you are plugged into the grid. Unfortunately this was not the end of the problems even with setting at 100% charge the battery once again began discharging/charging when watts drawn were less than the 30A input. Support has been horrendously bad. Phone hold for ~10 minutes, then “we’re busy, leave a message.” App login and website/Shopify login are not the same account. Website is slow, clunky, and unresponsive. Warranty registration submit button does nothing, bad web coding. I could not register the unit on the site and had to file the ticket in the app. Email is your only support avenue and they operate out of China waiting till the end of the day (~2-3am CST) to respond so that you always have to wait 24h for a response. This morning they sent me an firmware upgrade dated 9-21-2026 (ironic because I told them they needed to fix their firmware 3 emails and 5 days ago) With the firmware update my unit worked for about 5 mins, threw a inverter overload error, and after restarting refuses to provide AC power. It just completed charging to 100%, and no power output from the unit, no plugs working. Turned AC input on/off. So they bricked it for providing power... great job support. Now with solar panels incoming this week, I requested they send a replacement unit that I could exchange and send back the defective unit, they say I need to return the unit and they need to verify the unit. You would think with a failure of a new product to a customer a company would do their best to make things right. In this they have failed, and my 3 stars goes to a 1 star. The unit also joins your Wi-Fi with no local API, no MQTT, no documented control surface. If a device lives on my network I expect to be able to talk to it. You should not rely or trust the China cloud. The only gear that should connect with zero API is an ankle monitor. I would avoid buying from Pecron at all possible costs.

Cooling fan noise is unacceptable

E3800lfp noise level is a total let down. Cooling fan makes annoying sound even at low outputs below 200W. I can hear it even 10ft away. I placed it in living room downstairs and I can hear it from my room on the second floor. I will not buy it again. I prefer pecron f3000lfp which I bought twice before. Apart from the irritating sound of cooling fan it functions as advertised. If you place this inverter far away from you (like in a specialized room), you should be fine with this product.
