  • Great Caliper!
Model: 0-12“
When I pulled the box out of the packaging I wondered when I ordered a ratchet set. I was amazed that it was the box for my caliper. Very sturdy and good for protecting a precision device. I got the foot long one for bigger building projects but it works for small measurements very well. It's got inside and outside readers, a thumb roller for fine adjustments, a locking screw to hold the measurement and a calibration screw on the bottom of the gauge. It fooled me for a minute or two but as I checked it out I realized that it is gauged in inched in one tenth increments. So, an inch and a half is 1.5, but an inch and three quarters is between 1.7 and 1.8. Still very accurate and great for repeating sizes or whatever measuring you need to do. A bit expensive but well worth it. ... show more

  • Good backup calipers
Model: 0-300
I have some nice Mitutoyo calipers, but sometimes the battery goes dead on them. These are a nice backup to them. Are they as nice as a Mitutoyo? No. They don't slide as nicely, and it's a little harder to get repeatable measurements. But, they do work and you can get accuracy from them. I think the 0.01mm accuracy claim is probably pushing it. I couldn't get repeatable results within 0.01mm. At 300mm these are a bit bulky for small measurements, so unless you are making large measurements often, these are perfect for sticking in a corner of the toolbox. With no battery, you don't have to worry about them going dead or not working after being tucked away for months at a time. Overall happy with this order. ... show more

  • Well made piece of U.S.A. made precision hardware.
Model: 0-150
I am strictly a hobbyist when it comes to construction work, so this is more than I need for my purposes. I have needed a good quality one and this fit the bill. The stainless steel construction is smooth and consistent. No plastic used. Operation is smooth and subtle, allowing for very accurate measurement. The dial is clear and easy to read as are the units on the stainless steel body. And, no battery to worry about. It's a tactile pleasure to be using a well made tool. Me noting that certainly confirms me as a hobbyist. The heavy duty case provides significant protection. Being made in the U.S. is a bonus. And, it comes with a two year warranty. ... show more

  • Great measuring caliper. Ditch the digital one; no battery required.
Model: 0-6“
This was ordered to have a reliable caliper for taking fine measurements of various projects that I work on.I do have a caliper that is digital and requires a battery. Well, if the battery dies, and there is no replacement battery, there will be no taking any measurements with that tool. This happened to me once, and that was enough for me to figure that one out. Having worked many years in manufacturing, I have used calipers just like these many times. It is easy to dial in for an inside or outside diameter measurement, and there is a small locking thumbscrew to hold the measurement on the caliper. Having a high quality, mechanical (no battery) measuring caliper such as this is important for making fine measurements. I’m glad I finally have one in the shop that will work reliably, and does not require a battery. Good old world “analog”, mechanical precision at its finest. ... show more

  • Very Nice Dial Caliper
Model: 0-6“
This PEC Dial Caliper 0-6 Inch is a precision measuring device. The readout is a dial labeled in .001" along with the scale rule in .1" increments. The caliper appears to be a lower line model from PEC, but still provides accurate and repeatable readings. The body of the tool is made of stainless steel and is nicely finished with no rough or sharp edges evident. The travel is very smooth and even and the dial readings are equally smooth without jumps or gaps in response. I have made several measurements to verify the accuracy out to .001". I find a dial caliper more intuitive and responsive than the inexpensive digital types. I would galdly use this tool for verification checks, if not intricate design engineering. I really like this caliper. The overall quality is well worth the asking price. My only complaint is with the item listing that states "... accurate to ±0.0001". That is NOT correct and I hope it is only an error. But, the label attached to the plastic case is also labeled ".0001", which is definetly not correct. ... show more

  • Great set but accuracy is harder to achieve
Model: 0-300
I have a digital caliber that i like but the batteries always die on it. I got this one for situations where my batteries are dead on that set. The good about this caliper: - fairly easy to use - large - no batteries - nice case The bad about this set: - hard to zero out and get repeatable measurements Overall it's a good calipers with excellent build quality and overall functionality but it is hard to get very precise and accurate measurements with it. ... show more

  • These are massive calipers, biggest I’ve ever used, and they are very accurate too
Model: 0-12“
Man was I surprised when these bag fellas showed up haha, I was used to the smaller calipers and didn’t realize how big these were when I ordered them, but they do work really good so far, once I got used to the massive size of them… I’ve compared the measurements against my digital calipers and they are right on with my digital calipers So if you need a real big and real nice set of analog calipers these’ll do the trick, they have a nice fitted case, are solid feeling and have a nice geared track on them … These seem well built, solid, and can measure anything up to a foot wide, and they look nice too ... show more
