  • Good size and great utility for daily carry
Bags need to be different for different people. For me, I do not worry about travel in crowded buses or crowded markets. I want my stuff accessible. It’s pointless to have my sunglasses in some bag where I will never dig them out for the drive, likewise water, likewise earphones. So far, this bag seems excellent. There are 10(?) loops outside the bag where I can attach stuff by small carabiners that I need quick access to in the car, or at home. There are two pockets outside which for me, I use for sunglasses and water. Inside there are a bunch of pockets that are super secure for wallet, ipad, and smaller items. There is a key tether which I find very useful for a car key. It is quick to release from the bag, and likewise quick to reattach once done driving. All in all, a very stylish and well thought out bag. ... show more

  • Quality and Durability
It’s been over a year and the backpack is still doing great, peak design makes quality and durability. It’s been great even in rainy days, hikes, beach days, and weekend trips.

  • Simple is best
Update 2020-03-03: ========================================== Knocking down to 4 stars for the following reasons: -Comfort: may be improved. Fine for short trips, but I imagine a whole day of exploring would strain my back/shoulders more than other bags would. Could be the way I have it packed, but the way it rests on the back is a just a tiny bit off. -Utility: The side access/flaps do not open as much(wide) as those on v1. Therefore getting a camera out requires considerably more effort (and caution!) ========================================== Original review: Have been interested in the zip version ever since it was announced. Looks cleaner, a few hundred grams lighter. Improved straps -the old version of the Everyday Backpack really dug into my shoulder after a short while. Only con is lack of expandability which the normal Everyday Backpack has via the flap (and rungs). Aesthetics - 10 Subjective, but I really like the simplistic look of the zip. I’m 5’10 with a lanky build and the bag doesn’t feel too large nor too small when worn high. Just right. Utility - 9 Almost the same as the normal version. I think I could use an external easy-access pocket, but I’ve learned to make do. A pocket for a rainfly would’ve been awesome too. Durability - 9 I’ve only had mine for two months, but so far it’s held up well (black version). Any scuffs / stains are easily taken care of with a wet cloth. I know the ash will hold up better, but the black is still nice. Space - 9 This is a complete variable, since all of us will have different needs / gear. I have two bodies - a6600 + 24GM and A7R IV + 135GM. I have these two tucked vertically (divider in between) on the lower part of the bag.* I’ve reserved the top part as one large pocket for miscellaneous items. Space-wise the normal backpack would probably fare better especially when traveling when the wife and I tend to pick up an item or two. *With this set up, I can still carry the PD tripod on one external pocket Value - 8 PD products are always pricey, but you could get them with 10% or so discounts via affiliate links. Aesthetically I find them better than almost everything out there. There are other attractive bags from other brands but they tend to be excessively heavy (ex Lowepro freeline) All in all I happily recommend the 20L Zip. ... show more

  • Very durable.
I recently was traveling to Japan for 3 weeks, climbed Mt. Fuji in the rain with this bad boy and it held up no problem. I don’t understand the comments complaining about uncomfortable shoulder straps, I’ve had no issue with them and they are as comfortable as any backpack. I don’t have a camera but it has plenty of functional storage and kept everything dry, organized, and safe. The quality is also noticeably better than anything else on the market. Would highly recommend. ... show more

  • Perfect photo companion for travel or everyday carry
Almost perfect. Though it's not a lightweight bag (almost 1.3 kg empty with dividers) - it protects your gear, is very compact, sleek and flexible. I carry Canon R8 + RF24-105/f4 + RF70-200/f4 + RF50/f1.8 and there is still plenty of space left. Except for weight, it's 10/10

  • Practical for everyday but too expensive for the capacity.
It's too expensive for the capacity. Yes, it has many features, i was able to fit a lot of equipment (steam deck, a computer, tech pouch, dopp kit, some clothes, powerbank, etc.) but at the end it becomes too impractical to take anything from the laptop compartment. About this compartment, it looks like it was designed specifically for a Macbook and nothing else. My Thinkpad X1 fits but again, it's very difficult to take out when the backpack is full. Maybe at 25 liters the price will be justified but now at 20, there is not justification for the price. I fell too uncomfortable wearing this knowing that my previous backpack was 70 dollars less, had 5 liters more and had the same weight than the Peak Design. ... show more

  • Good to store camera - but no space for laptop and ipad
Compact design, decent build quality. Inserts to store camera and related accessories. The compartment to store the laptop and ipad is too tight, it is extremely difficult to get the device in and out of the compartment. Overall the design could have been much better.

  • Beautiful camera bag
I’m using this bag as my “personal bag” during airline travel. I bought the 15L and seems to be just right for light travel. Laptop sleeve is snug and a slightly rigid when wearing the bag. But the overall design is perfect. Great bag. Would recommend. UPDATE: I had a slight fray on one of the straps 1 year after purchase. I submitted a warranty claim and received a reply within 7 hours!! Along with the reply was notice of a new bag on its way! Amazing product even BETTER customer service. Can’t say enough good things about Peak Design as a brand overall! ... show more
