I had the V1 in Charcoal for about a week before PeakDesign came with this Version 2!! Long story short, I returned that one and got this one in Midnight Blue from Amazon. Many things have changed, and overall it’s definitely a better bag. I ordered midnight blue because it seemed more low key than the shiny charcoal, but this fabric is different than the V1 Charcoal, and I feel like the Charcoal wouldn’t show as much scratches in the long run but the blue might. The new hardware is indeed easier to open and close. The inner side pockets are much improved and more useable now. The back-straps have magnets that attach to the backpack body when not in use. I could fit the new MacBook Pro 16” with the Apple’s leather sleeve without any problems in the larger compartment marked by (13” >) letters in the bag. I also could fit a Sony A7R4 with 24-105 lens attached, Sony 70-300 in pouch, Sony 50mm in pouch, Sony 90mm Macro in pouch, and my filters and battery charger and more. The bag is heavy with all the gear but not uncomfortable to carry. The only bad thing I have to say is that the bottom is a bit curved, and the bag is still prone to tipping over. It’s better than V1, but I wish they would’ve fixed that completely. One more thing is that the new side pockets have zippers in the middle, and if you place your camera with the LCD facing outside in middle compartment, the zipper hardware may scratch or damage your LCD or viewfinder. They could’ve easily reversed the direction of the zipper to avoid this. Other than these minor points, this bag is a very nice upgrade from the first version. Lately been looking for a new backpack as the one I have before this was starting to rip from constant use to and from work. Ended up getting the Bobby Backpack but I started to realize I didn't like the fact that I would have to layer my items from least used to the bottom to most at the top, then items would fall down and misplace so I went and searched for another alternative. When I seen this I instantly knew I was going to make the purchase as it has shelve like liners and side zippers for ease of convenience for the items least used. Though my minor gripe and this was a personal issue, I'm 5'10" and ordered the 20L. Though all I had was nice and snug this felt a little small for me. I felt like I needed slightly more room and went to the 2nd latch but it just looked odd for my liking. I just now received the 30L and I believe I should of gone that route first. On the website they have a sizing chart and models with each size to see which is the best to buy for your body build. Pros: Flex-fold Divider/Shelving units for better organization Spacious for everyday needs Anchor Key link - keys are no longer in my pocket. Laptop sleeve - Laptop no longer hits the floor Cord Hooks - for external accessories Cons: Midnight Blue color gets dirty often, might catch abrasions with time Sternum strap was a bit hard to unlatch Size was too small for my build

I love the bag, sleek design and spacious. My only issue was I ordered the blue bag. My wife picked it up while traveling to the states. We’re living in Switzerland at the time and my previous bag decided to pretty much fall apart. When she returned with the bag, to my dismay, it was gray. At that time it was no returning it. Because we were going on holiday for Christmas. With nothing else to use I had to pack up the gray bag and go. Not at all disappointed with the bag. I just wish the color was what I requested. It is very well made, but does suffer from over emphasis on camera accessibility and not on comfort for wearer. If you have a heavy loadout spring for the waist belt too. If you do have plenty of opportunities to put the bag down you'll be just fine. The 20L does fit under the airplane seat for stowage.

My college-age son has a Peak Design backpack, the only thing he wanted for Christmas last year. Yes, they're expensive. I kept wondering "how great can a backpack be?" But he's right -- it's terrific, and so convenient for traveling. Perfect size for a Macbook Pro 16" (2022), all the power charging accessories, and I love the reconfigurable inside, the handle placement, and the blue/tan leather color scheme. Very well done.

Really nice backpack and feels to be made of really good materials. I foresee this backpack to hold up to several years of abuse. The latch at the top flap of the backpack is questionable. I could sure see this being the failure point of this bag before anything else. Also I'm not sure if I like the latch mechanism anyways. It is difficult when your pack is packed with a lot of stuff. Decent for a camera and some gear. I didn't feel like I had too much worry about when the camera was in there, fairly padded. Overall, I own two different backpack from these guys and so far I am impressed. I recently switched to a new backpack brand for quality issues. So hopefully the quality of these bags last for a long time!

I fly weekly for work and like to have my gear with me. I have bought and returned so many backpacks looking for the right bag for me. This is it. Quality is amazing, and the 20 liter fits perfectly under every airplane seat I have had. In first-class you will even have room left to stretch your legs. My 15-inch Microsoft Surface Book 2 fits, tightly, but it fits. It has been a few weeks now, and the pocket has loosened up a little, but it is still about the largest laptop you will fit in the 20 liter. The expandable top is great for my compressible winter coat. There are lots of straps for attaching gear and things to the outside when needed.
