Only the basics and still not enough info
Format: Paperback
This book only covers the basics of the Paypal API, and even then it doesn't give enough information. For example, it doesn't go over what the various responses for IPNs mean or the best practices for dealing with them. The whole book is like that, you'll find your self on the PayPal's developer website figuring it out your self. Luckily PayPal gives good explanations for things (some that this book seems to copy word for word). If you have never dealt with APIs before this book might give you a little more of the basics than the PayPal site, but you will still need to use the PayPal developer manuals and problem solving to implement your checkout. If you know what a HTTP POST are familiar with making them and parsing responses then you are better off skipping this book and just using the PayPal site. ... show more
