  • Very nice device I would recommend it
I bought two different kinds and this one seems more substantial and useful. The only downside is I would like it to automatically come on in a power failure and I don't see that as an option and I don't know how to search for that option. It does have a high output USB which was important to me. Few of them are 3+ amps. And I wanted this to power my alarm if necessary. UPDATE: I hung a solar panel from a ladder inside my house and outside and successfully charged this device. Definitely charged more reliably outdoors but on again off again sunlight didn't seem to bother the machine when the sunlight was too low it stopped charging when it was good it came back and I did get a full charge off a solar panel. It's not quick but that's a function of how much solar panel I had and I was just happy that it worked so in an emergency I know I would have power even if I had only solar available to charge it. The only feature I'm not sure exists is it takes a button press to turn on the outlet which is probably for safety and I was wondering if it drains the battery and turns off, but I have it attached to solar, when the solar charges it back up enough to operate, would the outlet turn back on again automatically? I don't know. I suspect not. But that would be a nice feature in certain circumstances. ... show more

  • Runs CPAP for 8 hours.
We live in the mountains by a state park. Due to fire prevention, and updates, our power company frequently shuts off the electricity. I bought this to run my wife's CPAP machine, which it did all night during a test. For some reason it will not operate a power recliner chair from the AC plug, even though it is well under the power rating required. If the power goes out when in the reclined position it's very difficult to get out of the chair so this was also a reason for the purchase. 5 stars if it would operate the chair too. ... show more

  • So tiny and full of POWER!!!!!!!
Ok so this think is smaller than I thought but still 300w. And is very lite and feels empty but I assure you it's not. It came with 50% charge on it and I drained it to 19% before charging. I ran a 30w box fan for 6 hours on 50% charge so it would run along time on a full charge. Speaking of charging I used the wall charger to get it to 100% and it took 8hours and 40minutes to get to full. And the wall charger got very hot while charging. I'm saying not warm but hot to the touch so that might be a factory issue with the chargers but I don't know. Their is a very annoying fan that runs for the length of the charging to keep the batteries cool and safe and the while unit was ice cold the whole 8 hours and 40 minutes, very goot heat management inside the unit im impressed. Lastly I plugged in a 35w 4k with eco settings on, computer monitor into the ac outlet and it ran 9hours from 100% down to just under 30% pretty amazing power management. Watched Netflix, played a few games youtube etc. This is definitely a power house of a unit, the wall charger worries me that it's a fire hazard by how hot it got while charging...if you charge it this way at home make sure to leave it in a well ventilated area because I suspect it would start on fire or melt if even something lite was over it blocking the air. I'm going to be buying a different one asap. Other than that this little guy is amazing. I'm goin to save up and go for the big 1000w one I'm a few months. And a renology soar panel to charge this too. ... show more

  • Stopped working after 10 uses, less than 6 months.
I searched hard before deciding on this unit last fall. I liked* the price, the value seemed* legit at the time. I used it a handful of times at the end of camping season last year and put it away in its box. I got it out last week, it still has a charge and used it once and now it won't turn on, or charge; there is no display. I've went thru steps regarding the correction of "overload protection" and unfortunately the issue is unresolved. The return window was also expired in January, which is unfortunate considering I've had it about 6 months and more importantly was only able to use it 8-10 times TOTAL. Super bummed about the purchase. Hoping to hear back from the seller in hopes of making this right. Most things these days have at least a 1 year limited warranty, so you'd think?! ... show more

  • Great feature set, but less capacity than advertised.
The LCD screen indicating the charge and discharge power is very useful to estimate the time remaining. The USB-C connector is great because it can be used to both charge the unit and power devices. This means I can use the same power adapter and cable to charge this battery, my laptop, and then power my laptop from the battery. Upon receiving the unit, I charged it to 100% and then discharged over two 110v light bulbs that consumed a total of 13 Watts. Both the LCD on the battery and my "Kill a Watt" meter indicated 13 Watts. The remaining battery indicator went linearly from 100% to zero over a period of 13 hours before shutting down. This is a capacity of 169 Watt/Hour and not the 288WH advertised. The user guide says we can expect 85% of the battery capacity (244WH), but from what I measured, we are still 75WH short. I tried to power my refrigerator or my photographic strobe. Neither worked. The initial power spike on those devices is too high and the unit shuts off completely. This is a great little unit to power your modem and wifi router during a power shut-down, but don't expect too much. ... show more

  • So far so good.......
Received the Rockman 300 yesterday along with a 120W portable solar panel set (different manufacturer). Unit came with battery charge of 57% so I connected the the solar panels and started charging. Input charging is 69 watts. I believe this is a set rate for this unit. When it reached 73%, which took about 45 minutes, I brought it inside and connected the AC adapter to finish charging. It was still showing charge rate of 69 watts. Not a big deal but thought I would mention. Internal fan works well, keeps the unit cool and it's not too loud. When finished charging, I plan on testing output on a few devices that need to be charged and see how it performs. For the price I paid, it seems to be worth it. Time will tell. ... show more
