I installed these along the bottom edge of a Dell All-In-One desktop to illuminate the keyboard. Works GREAT!. Make sure to clean the surface you going to attache them to. I used alcohol, but whatever you use, make sure it doesn't harm the surface or leave any residue. The adhesive strip worked fine for me, and I've had not issues with detaching. The bottom edge of my display hard plastic. I cut the strip to about 24 inches long. The dimmer works great and I attached it to the back side of the display with double sided tape. On the lowest setting, the light is perfect for a dim/dark room and provided plenty of illumination for typing. I NEVER use the higher settings as its just overkill brightness. If you use the entire strip, make sure your USB port can provide AT LEAST 1.5 to 2 amps. Not all computers will provide this much current to the USB port, and you may get flickering. If you get flickering, its most likely NOT an issue with the lights, but an issue with the USB port not supplying enough current. ... show more

    • Great with a couple minor flaws

These were perfect for adding a splash of accent lighting to my kitchen. They are fairly bright on the highest setting, almost blindingly so if you look directly at them. I usually leave them a couple notches above minimum to add some pleasing atmosphere, but it's nice to have them at max for the added light while cooking. Installation was very easy, just peel and stick. The wireless remote is fairly cheap and flimsy, but it does get the job done. I have to knock off a star because I have occasions where I have to do double or triple presses to get it to respond, but it's rare. One other minor gripe is that these are advertised to be used as under cabinet lighting, but the way the cord is designs makes it obnoxious to mount and not looking distracting. The power cable is hard set into the unit and comes out of the bottom, while the lights come out at the top. It leaves a lot of slack hanging that I had to sort out in a creative way. If I had my preference, the controller would have a quick disconnect for the power to a standard adapter and then I could choose my length (it's just USB so this would not be difficult to do and I might honestly just modify it myself in the future). I have also seen some people curious on if you can use 1 remote for multiple strips/controllers, and the answer is yes you can. I ordered 2 sets and a controller from one of them operated both units without having to pair anything. Your mileage may vary as I saw some reports that you had to pair them, but in my case I did not, it just worked. I had connectors made for 10mm spaced contacts, but these are more like 8mm. I had to bend the connector contacts, which created inconsistent connections (and some slight flickering). Light is pretty . Originally it made a big electrical buzzing sound whenever its on. However the customer service of this company is amazing and they sent me a new one while amazon was telling me to rip my wall off and return it. Highly recommend the product and the seller. Will be buying more!
