The sequins are sewed on instead of glued, so hopefully, once the garment is finished there won't be sequins popping off all the time like with glued. The velvet-like fabric only stretches one way so that is something to be watchful of. Also, there is approximately 3 inches of non-sequined selvage on each side of the fabric. The only down sides really though were that that non-sequined selvage area was not consistent. Looked like the machine that sewed the sequins on must have pulled sideways a few times as the area widened to about 4 inches. I am guessing that is the cause, because the fabric had a tendency to try to pull sideways as I sewed it. But the end result was great!

The sequins are stitched on (better than glued on in my opinion). The sequins are spaced apart and I’d estimate cover about 50% of the fabric. The fabric is wider than the 48 inches in the description , measuring not including the selvage (not sequined edges) the width is 54”, there’s 3” if selvage on each end. The front surface of the fabric is a slightly velour/brushed feel, and the backing has the stitching that attached the sequins so it doesn’t feel soft on the backing — so if you’re planning to sew clothing I think probably would want a lining fabric. The fabric has some stretch. No care instructions on the product page but I’d assume a sequined fabric needs to be hand washed and laid flat to dry.

I was surprised by how much I liked this fabric. I figured it would be super thin, cheap stuff with sequins. Well, the fabric actually has a nice hand to it. It is nice to the touch, not crunchy or slimy feeling. The sequins are attached well, and should stay in place just fine. The color was nice as well, with a consistent dye throughout the piece.
