Good Sd Card.

  • 66MB/s Write avg, good price
Color: 256GB
(See Edit at end) Original: 5/8/2019 I normally use Samsung cards. They tend to be the fastest, most reliable, but not always the cheapest. After realizing I needed a second 256GB card after having just bought one at $45 dollars, I find the price went up to $50 within 48 hrs. Call me stubborn and cheap, but I looked for a better deal. This was about $35, and is advertised with the same or similar specs as the Evo Select cards with a $10-$15 dollar (less) price difference. Unfortunately, a lot of reviews suggest duds or failures are common, so I never felt inclined to purchase one before due to the idea of data loss. However, I'm using this in a tablet, not my phone, and the data will be replaceable so I decided to give it a try. I used an Anker usb 3.0 adapter on a USB 3.0 port via an Asus Maximus ROG VIII (iirc) mobo running Win10 Pro transferring from an internal mechanical archive drive. Not the fastest drive, but a one way will give top speeds in the 100MB/s range easy. I tested it with 195GB worth the data to check capacity authenticity and average (stable) write speeds. Capicity is authentic, no data corruption. Write speeds averaged 66MB/s, dropping to 54MB/s and back (lots of dip and peak, not a solid stable 66MB/s most of the time) with a max peak at 102MB/s for a couple seconds at the start of a transfer. Considering I get 60-76MB/s with the Evo Select cards, I'd say this passes my tests with flying colors. I didn't have the patience to test the read speeds, nor to use a benchmark tool. What Windows reports back is enough info for my purposes as I'm not reviewing this professionally, I'm just a consumer looking for reliability at an affordable price whom is inclined to share his findings with others so as they can make an informed choice. Now, we wait. Some reviews are suggesting failure at the 30-78 day range, well out of return period. I don't know what Patriot's warranty service is like, and hopefully I won't have to find out. If after two months this thing is still kranking, I'll be back with a 5th star. Hopefully I won't be back with a report of failure. If you're going to be dropping this into a tablet for movies or something, go for it. If you're going to use it in your phone where data reliability is a concern (pics of the kids and family is a big one for me), read the user reviews here, read some professional reviews, and make an informed choice before you buy. Edit: 5/29/2019 I have my Samsung Evo 256GB card and this Patriot 256GB card side by side in Windows (10) and my capacity is listed as 232GB VS 238GB on the Samsung, both are exFAT. Where are the other 6 gigs? I won't even get started on these card/drive manufacturers claiming "formatting" is why you end up with 232GB of usable space and not the advertised 256GB (again, where are the other 24GB?!). I won't dock it a star for this, the card has actually been performing as well as my Evo card. Just keep an eye on your reported capacities. ... show more

  • Fast, Honest capacity and performance

Wanted to install a microSD card in my Samsung Galaxy TAB A7 Lite. After having installation, rated capacity, and performance problems with several cheaper cards, I gave up and spent $15 more for the Patriot card. Well, it was money well spent. It gave hassle free installation with Fast, Honest capacity and performance. ... show more

  • This budget card far exceeds the minimum specs it is rated for at a great price!
Color: 64GB
I purchased this Patriot EP (PEF64GEP31MCX) 64GB SDXC card for use in my Fimi X8 SE 2020 drone, which records in 4k at 30fps at a rate of up to 100Mb (megabit) per second. This card would also work well in all of the Hubsan Zino drones, the DJI Mini or Mavic series and even the Autel EVO II with an 8k camera. It would also be suitable for newer generation dash cams that record in 2k or 4k as well as home security cameras with internal storage via sdxc cards. The card itself is rated to at least 30MB (megabyte) per second. It met that rating without issue when using my Uni USB 3.0 card reader. When using the built-in media reader, it came up short so be aware of that possibility. Your actual speeds may vary based on the specifics of your device. The formatted size is around 58GB. Formatting always uses some of the stated capacity. Also be aware of the difference between MB and Mb as it relates to speed. 8Mb = 1MB, so the 100Mb/sec write speed of the drone in this case will not be an issue as it only equals 12.5MB/sec. And finally, I always recommend that you format the card in the device that is going to use it whenever possible. ... show more
