  • Just works
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1866MHz CL10
I am sitting at a perfectly good PC and it has been good since I built it in 2014. It had 16 GB of fast ram and up until recently it was never not enough. I have been playing a long time game(since 2004) and some aspects of it required I run a java based client. I just started playing some parts of it very differently. It requires(I require) running 8 of these java clients at the same time and on a normal day in day out thing they all used 4 GB memory, but this new thing I'm doing spiked that up to 1.5 or more GB for each machine. Win10 and my PC got very upset when I used up all the 10 GB it had reserved and asked for ram beyond that. It would hard lock to the point I had to unplug the thing and it left my game sessions in a mess when trying to pick up where things went belly up. So I was reduced to playing half of these machines, meaning a day of this game took twice as long(4 hours). My old ASUS board is very forgiving, and I might have been fine tossing in the no-name(supposedly 2400 speed) Chinese ram you will see advertised here along with the Patriot ram. But you just know almost with a certainty this ram will snap in and boot up. It did, and setting the XMP was a piece of cake and I'd be shocked if I could not bump it up to the next speed level with some minor timing tweaks. The best $50(I bought two kits for 32 GB) I've spent on this old PC in years. ... show more

  • Installed it, system sees it, ran tests, no apparent problems.
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1866MHz CL10
My system previously had two 4 GB DIMMs present. I took those out and replaced with four of these 8 GB DIMMs. The system came right up, sees all 32 GB, and runs great. I normally run Windows 10, but I also booted to Linux and ran a memory tester that writes and reads back all 32 GB of memory in many different ways, and found no errors. I ran that twice. So far I am only running this memory at the "default" speed of 1600 Mhz. To get the advertised 1833 Mhz, I would have to go into my BIOS and turn on the overclocking, which I'm not sure I'll do. This is all normal. Memory essentially comes with 2 speed ratings... the default (which typically is a max of 1600 Mhz, but sometimes is much lower, such as 1333) and then potentially a higher speed rating that the manufacturer may have tested / certified. This memory defaults to 1600 and manufacturer says is good at 1833 as well. ... show more

  • They work just like they should
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1600MHz CL9
I up-graded two older PC's with almost no problems. One up to 32 gigs and the other to 24 gigs. The 24 gig PC could not take the 4 stick on memory due to the placement of the drive cage in that tower. The heat sink on the memory sticks make them a bit taller and the 4th stick just would not fit. Just remember to check your memory location on your mother board and make sure nothing is sitting above the memory slots. ... show more

  • No go with Gigabyte
Size: 16GB (2x8GB) Kit 1866MHz CL10
I have only 2 slots on either of my boards. The gigabyte would not even boot, the Asus board ran flawless with one or both of the new 8G sticks.

Popped these memory sticks in and computer booted right up with no issues. I used a system info program to check the memory speed. Runs at rated speed.

Worked out of the box. Thanks to this memory, I brought a 12 year old computer back to use. And it's fast.
