Wasn't impressed with the Brooklyn blend and gave it a two star review. Partners contacted me and offered me a full refund and hoped I'd give them another try. Have to appreciate a company willing to give a full refund without asking. I used the refund and tried again, this time ordering the Manhattan Blend, which is their dark roast. This time it was much better. As other reviewers have indicated, Partners roasts lean to the mild side, so if you're looking for a medium or medium-dark roast, go with the Manhattan Blend. My go to coffee is La Colombe but purchased Partner's Jumpstart blend to try something new and planned to use for plain hot black coffee and lattes. It's advertised as medium dark but this seems very light. On their webpage they have an Agtron scale showing a roast level of 77. So is this a light roast? I did not detect any pear, jordan almond, or caramel notes. The description notes it is decadent, but I can't agree. It was smooth but so very bland and it is hard to place any flavors. It was not, sweet, fruity, or nutty. I would not recommend purchasing if you buying based on the flavor profile or expecting a rich medium dark roast. It's not. This is the first coffee I found that actually justifies all this coffee-related equipment I've been buying. You can actually taste the flavors they list on the package. The beans are perfectly roasted and fresh. I've tried them as a pour over, as flash-cooled ice coffee, and in a Moka pot... all amazing. So happy I tried this. I just got the Flatiron blend as well, and it's just as good; all the flavors come through, at the same level of quality. I've been actively recommending this coffee to my friends like a weirdo.
