  • Perfect drone for a budget.
Color: Red Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I had been searching for a decent drone for months, but didn't not want to spend hundreds of dollars. So I came across the Bebop. I checked the specs and reviews and it was a winner, and I found one for $99 yes!!! The battery life is not 20mins but I did receive 2 batteries so it's about 20mins with both batteries. I had purchased a Yuneec 4k previously and I returned it because of connection issues, in comparison the bebop is the better drone overall to me. The con with the bebop is the app produced by the parrot company is useless because it crashes, as soon as I hit the takeoff it crashes, thankfully I adjusted the settings on my first flight to about 3ft in altitude and because the app never worked I literally grab it out the air and turned it off manually, I don't think I damaged anything. I have an android phone running Oreo 8 (Nokia 6). It's a third party app available but I haven't tried it. My wife has an iPhone and the app doesn't crash when I use her phone, so hopefully they fix the issues with android ... show more

  • Camera stopped working. Cheap toy.
Color: Red Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
I can confirm the following: (A) Legs fall off within 5 minutes (B) Build quality is very poor. (C) Drifts around like an actual drunk parrot. (D) Poor camera setup. Let me elaborate & hit some of the more uncommon problems. This drone is so cheaply made you're going to instantly question the purchase. The battery stands out the most in this department. Instead of making a nice fitting pack that slides in & locks, you get a cheap under powered pack that has to be held in place with a piece of Velcro. I was ok with this before I seen the actual product & realized this was just Parrot being cheap. Also the battery connector is a major pain to deal with & just isn't integrated well. I had my Bebop over a week a flew it 2-4 times a day. I crashed it zero times, yet managed to scuff up the lens on one of the first flights with the bumpers on. The camera sticks out like a sore thumb just begging to be damaged. Didn't affect the video quality much & I had decided to get a new nose kit since in fact the drone is fun to fly. Before I could order a replacement the camera totally malfunctioned. I turned it on one day & all the video was opaque, out of focus. Nothing remedied this. I contacted Parrot who took several days to reply & blamed it on the lighting. Fortunately I already had an RMA at that point I was wise to their customer service before they began. Also worth noting the camera isn't that great to begin with & costs $160 to replace. I continued to fly without it so I could get a good feel for the machine. Some other points: Nose piece color was peeling & fading fast near the caution hot on the sides. I used an nVidia shield as a controller (lots of fun) & kept the thing in sight so I can't speak much to the range however battery life sucks and the app is lackluster at best. By the time you've hooked it to the wifi & got it configured you've already drained several percent of the battery. Lack of lighting was also an issue for me since I like to fly at night. My biggest gripe however is the actual handling of the drone. Best described as exhilarating & terrifying at the same time you never know what the Bebop is going to do. It seemed to have a lot of problems with uneven terrain i.e. taking off & landing on a elevated deck. I also found it to do lousy in slow to moderate wind speeds despite all the stabilization. Cheap toys can be affordable & fun, expensive malfunctioning toys not so much. I don't recommend this drone for these reasons. If you're starting out & bit by the drone bug, buy an X5C-1. Great indoors & out, $50 toy held it own against a $500 Bebop & still going strong. ... show more

  • Fun product! But Beware that the unit cannot be flown at high altitudes even though it says it can on the official website...
Color: Red Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
Revised: Awesome product. BUT!!!!!! The website for the Bebop in support indicates that the unit is safe to fly to 2500 meters ~ THIS IS FALSE ADVERTISING. I opened a case this past week with Parrot after I had two flights start out of control and end with the Bebop falling out of the sky. As it turns out they have no idea at what altitude the unit becomes unstable but they admitted that the Drone 2.0 had a ceiling of 2000' and the Bebop would likely be in that vicinity. Which is terrible if you line in Las Vegas like I do. LV has an elevation of 2100'. Now I have never had an issue with the Bebop flying near my home. But this past weekend the flights were at 5,600' and it was pure disaster. Because the FAQ's at Parrot still state the ceiling is at 2500 METERS ~ I was duped into thinking that the unit would be safe for my desert SouthWest adventures. After spilling over 600.00 in the drone, spare batteries, and spare props, I am in battle to return the unit to Amazon. Amazon has first declined me because it is outside the 30 days window for a return. But seeing that the unit would have never worked according to the Parrot Bebop response I got this week I think Amazon should be willing to take up the issue with Parrot which still mis-advertizes on their website that the unit is safe to 2500 meters. ... show more

  • Product needs more work
Color: Red Product Packaging: Standard Packaging
So the bebop showed up on time. The instructions in the box are useless, but you can find a complete set of documentation online. So for for the actual product: I bought the bebop without the sky controller, so it may be a better experience with that. I use my iPad and iPhone. It connects okay, but it has lost connection mid flight within about 10 meters from me. After a firmware update while I was flying it just shot off and crashed into some branches, thank goodness it didn't hit the house or it would be destroyed. The lease sticks out and is already scratched. One of the wifi receivers falls out all the time, I am waiting for it to break so I have to order a new one. Over all the bebop is a lot of fun, but the company in its attempt to keep it light and agile lose quite a bit of quality in the product. I don't take it above about three meters because I am afraid it will take off on its own and then I will be without it for good. I have had it for about a week and I am considering returning it. But it is a lot of fun to fly. ... show more
