Amazing guitar...feels good, sounds good, looks great! The headstock is awesome. Pickups are pretty good too. I might change the tuning machines, but the original ones work fine so far.

The body of this guitar is beautiful however, the fret board had a bad stain job. There was major fret buzz on the low E and G string. The guitar would only stay tuned for about 3 minutes of strumming. The pickups sounded like a blown speaker. I gave it 2 stars because the finish on the body was so beautiful. ... show more

Minor cosmetic issues (scratch on the top of the headstock and some rough frets) but all in all this is a solid guitar out of the box and for the price it is well worth it. I would but it again. This thing is cool! It just needs a set up, if you don't have a set up kit, you might as well order one. First, I had to adjust the truss rod, neck relief is too slack. Nut edges were sharp, had to smooth them out with a file...and that's it. Frets were level, no fret buzz anywhere. The neck profile is like a shallow "C", quite similar to my kramer baretta special. Fretboard and overall design is similar to my gibson les paul junior specially with the wrap around bridge and the soft "V" headstock make it look like a no nonsense rock and roll machine. The pups are hi output, as compared side by side with my squier bullet telecaster. The belly cut does make it feel more comfortable to play. For the price, this is the best bang for your buck! ... show more

I have bought the white version of this guitar twice now. The first never shipped. It just went into limbo. ?? A label got printed and it never arrived at the carrier facility. I ordered a replacement. That replacement came today an it is awful. The headstock is damaged in 2 places and near the belly contour there is a jagged edge. I will say it plays beautifully, but I never keep new guitars that arrived with ANY cosmetic damage. No one should. So it will get returned and I will try again. I really like what Gretsch is doing with these lower price point guitars. I have the Duo-Tone Burst and it arrived in perfect condition! I love the neck, the action and they do a thorough inspection. Unfortunately, due to shipping issues and what I received today, I haven't had a great experience. I'd keep it if they'd knock off some money, but I doubt that is possible. If I receive another white one in excellent condition, I will change my review. But for now that's been my experience. ... show more

Really good guitar right out of the box. For the price you can't beat it. Pick-ups are hot, ceramic and really make some noise. No issues with tuners or hardware. The laurel fingerboard has a different feel, but after some time playing it, it has no issues. I had no sharp fret markers and they all were relatively level. The overall body of the guitar was really nice, no concerns. Not the lightest guitar but certainly no issue with weight. I will probably look at purchasing one of the single bridge pick-up model next. I really hope they expand this new line of guitars. ... show more
