The first thing to note is that the pens come with tiny clear caps on the nibs to protect them and keep them from drying out, so if your pen won't write, make sure you've gotten rid of it! They're kind of a pain to remove and my index finger and thumbnail now have tiny smudge rainbows on them, but that's pretty typical of new sets of retractable gel pens. The pen bodies are nice-looking and a fairly standard size, so they're easy to hold, and the surface of the body has a soft texture to it, almost like silicone, which is reasonably pleasant. I don't foresee any finger-slippage problems with them. I started at one end of the pack with the red and tested them all one by one. I was immediately really impressed by the red--it's a very true red, highly-pigmented, and super smooth to write with. The orange was just as nice, which really got my hopes up for the set. Unfortunately, the pale yellow pen body is where things started getting weird. Looking back at the listing, I can see that it shows that it's a tan rather than a yellow, so I don't have a huge problem with the odd pen body-pen color match, but my pen definitely comes out more mustard or dark tan than the listing picture. I also suspect that it's actually supposed to be a gold pen, since there's a silver pen (surprise!) later in the set, but the ink doesn't read as metallic or shiny at all for me. Going through the rest of the set, the darker colors and those with the standard finish pretty much all wrote well and are very nice colors, even if some of them do not match the pen body color at all (e.g., the hunter green pen body has a medium teal ink, which is very pretty, but not at all what I was expecting). But the lighter pen bodies tend to have inks in them that are fluorescent or pastel. They don't go as well with the other colors, are much drier/skippier to write with, and many of them railroad noticeably. Also the pale blue body wrote silver and the light grey body wrote in pale (nearly invisible) blue, but I think that was just a matter of the refills getting installed in the wrong bodies, and I'll switch them myself. Overall, I'm happy with the colors that write well and that closely resemble the colors shown in the listing images, but the the unexpectedly fluorescent or metallic ones are different from what was shown and aren't likely to get used much, if at all. These just arrived today so I can't comment on the longevity of the pens or the ink, but I do want to note that because the refill is only attached to a very small spot at the other end of the pen and the spring near the nib is relatively small, several of the refills aren't quite in alignment and take some force on the clicker to get to come out. Whether that will cause them to wear down more quickly or more unevenly in the long run or not is up to time to tell. The media could not be loaded. Was looking forward to these pens and unfortunately they ended up being a disappointment. Upon opening package, less than half of them worked. Reached out to company and they gave me step by step instructions on how to try to make the work again. This included disassembling the ones, dipping them in water, drying them, then doing the same thing to the tips, etc. Shouldn’t have to do this with new products, but gave it a go anyway. That fixed 2 of them. Reached out to them and let them know that I still had a few pens that didn’t work. They said I might have to do the above “troubleshoot” a few times and that that was their only solution. Here is a video after doing said troubleshoot a few times. Unfortunate to receive a product that doesn’t work but even more unfortunate to receive the type of customer service that I did. ... show more

These pens write ok… on anything except paper from the same company. The color of the outside of the pen doesn’t match what color it writes on a few different colors, wouldn’t recommend. Got these and a bullet journal from the same company and the pens write terribly in the bullet journal.
