These are beautiful paper lanterns that will add charm and ambiance in whatever setting you decide to use them. There are battery-powered string lights included (sans batteries) which is great if you don't have any shorter string lights, but they are either on or off with no timer setting and there's also no variation either, so if you want them to fade or twinkle, then you'll have to get different lights. The biggest downside to these lights is that you have to toggle the on/off switch to turn them on and off, which may be a non-starter depending on where or how high you intend to hang them. Since I plan to hang them in my kitchen bay window, I got different lights with a remote that also have a timer, so I don't have to fuss with the switch. The lanterns themselves are very beautiful and well constructed and you'll be able to use them again and again. At first I had some trouble bringing the two sides of the star together but then I realized that the last star point was flattened out and I needed to expand it. Once I figured that out, it was easy. The toggle closure makes the star easy to use and also acts as a hanging loop. If you don't want to see the cord, you could also tuck it into the lantern and use a piece of fishing line or something similar to hang it which is what I plan to do. Whether you use the included lights or buy different ones, the ambiance these create is really special. I'll be using them throughout the holiday season, and I suspect I'll probably leave them up for most of the winter to keep the atmosphere cheery. Beyond the holidays, these would be great for parties, weddings, a child's room, or even as ambient lighting in lieu of a more traditional lamp. These are really lovely and I hope they'll be durable enough to use for many years.

I really love Star paper lanterns, they are such a great Scandi touch at Christmas. These are really sturdy and unfold and secure really easily, and each of the 3 stars comes with its own set of battery lights that you can just drop inside. There were some other fun surprises in the bow as well, like some tinsel, gold bows and a couple of honeycomb balls. I probably won’t use the extra items, but still appreciate how much actually comes in this package. The only downside I see to these m lanterns is that the switch is on the battery pack, and the battery pack gets enclosed inside the star, so you will have to release the drawstring and open the star each and every time you turn the lights on or off. Other than that, these seem really well made and will be so cozy hanging in my windows on Christmas Eve.

The stars are very sweet, and I’m planning to hang them under our patio porch for the holidays. They come with battery operated lights that turn on for a set number of hours each day, starting from when you first switch them on. You can keep it out or you can pop the battery pack inside each lantern along with the fairy lights. It might be a little more of a hassle to change the batteries that way, but this usually just comes with the territory with these kinds of decorations. To assemble the stars, you pull each “arm” apart, stick your hand inside, and using your finger pop out the triangles at the top of each arm from the inside to make the flat arms become pyramid shaped. You need to fully open each arm this way. Otherwise the last of them might bend since they don’t reach all the way around if they haven’t been opened up individually first. It sounds more complicated than it actually is. I was amazed at how much came out of this tiny box! There were three lanterns, each with a battery pack and lights, plus two other simpler party lanterns, a blank gift card with an envelope, two decorative bows, and a strip of foil garland that my daughter is obsessed with. It felt like a clown car. It’s probably the first time I’ve opened an Amazon package and been entertained the whole time. And we can’t forget the best part…my boy Bob! Bob came with it, as shown in the picture. I liked that this was a multipack because I’d been seeing individual stars, and as singles, they seemed overpriced. This is the better deal. Plus, do you even get a Bob with the single ones!???

I really love the paper stars that were part of this decorating set. The set comes with several bows, some garland, a Christmas card and several paper star lanterns. The lanterns have LED lights that can be inserted inside. The problem is that in order to turn the lights on and off. You have to open up each star and reach inside. It makes it very cumbersome to turn the lights on and off. I probably will not use the stars with the LED lights. unless I’m having a Party or a special occasion . The paper used for the star lanterns is very heavy and good quality. I would have liked to see just the three stars sold by themselves. I don’t need all the other stuff. I still give this a five star review because the star lanterns are very good quality

Pros: This is a foldable, reusable design that will transform any space into a festive, christmassy location. The paper lantern has holes cut into it so the light just shines through and creates a wonderful soft atmosphere that is accentuated by the light specks it throws on the walls around it. I will hang these in different windows throughout my home during the holiday season. They are very easy to hang up and assemble - simple open the folded star design, place the light source inside, and snap it closed. The foldable design comes so handy as a space saving feature when these are not in use. Cons: Unfortunately, the light source that comes with these is designed to be placed inside the star, which means the star has to get opened and closed every time the light has to be turned on. I am not sure I will find that convenient. I also wish they were not battery powered, but sometimes one has to take the bad with the good.
