My cats have completely stopped scratching the couch since putting these stickers on. You can definitely see them, but they aren't super obvious. It's almost like a big sheet of tape put on the couch. So far it sticks well and deters the cats from scratching. I put them on several pieces of furniture and I still have some sheets left. For the price you get a lot and they are very effective. This worked like a charm. I had a fairly large scratching post by the couches and for some reason she did not use the post and would use the couches to scratch on. These panels were very self explanatory. I only placed them on the corners of my couches as that was the only places she would scratch. While these were in place I had also ordered a larger more sturdy scratching post. I ordered 'SmartCat Ultimate Scratching Post – Gray, Large 32 Inch Tower - Sisal Fiber, Simple Design - For All Cats' (highly recommended). With the new post and the tape together its been great in getting them to scratch the post and not the couches. I have not removed them yet, but they are very sticky. Great on un damaged furniture, doesn’t work as well on furniture that’s already scratched. They also collect lint/hair (to be expected) and can peel off on you if you bump into them. I got a new couch that I didn’t want my cat tearing up and these have worked pretty well to deter her. Even after the outward facing side dried out they still prevented her from scratching. I put them on another piece that was already kind of scratched and they didn’t work as well, they peeled up easily at the edges and then my cat tried to rip them off with her teeth which may be a good case for getting the kind that you pin on. ... show more

After many years of hesitation to replace my leather couches that were destroyed by my cats, I replaced them with a fabric sectional. I liked the more deterrent idea rather than punishment for my cat scratching furniture. My sofas are a polyblend fabric and I was excited to try these out, but unfortunately they would just not stick to my sofas. No matter where I tried, it would just fall off from the pull of gravity alone. I thought they were a defective batch so I contacted customer service and they were apologetic and super kind. They quickly shipped a whole new set for no cost to me to try. Alas, that set did not work either. Unfortunately for me I'll have to try something different. I have two 8 month old cats that were using one of our chairs as a scratching posts. I got this and so far it has been extremely effective at keeping them away. They don’t go near the chair anymore. It is a little tricky to use initially (I found), but soon as I figured it out, very easy. I like that you can cut to customize size. I recently adopted a kitten and I was scared she may scratch my furniture. I put this sheets on the corners of my sofas cuz she tried to scratch there. She immediately stopped doing that. I will need to leave them for some months until she has learn to not do that (or lose the curiosity to do that). I also installed one sheet where I normally put my console and she stopped going there. About the easiness to install: super easy and simple. Appearance: is a double sided sticky sheet. If you are careful, you will barely notice is there. Removes easily but not THAT easy.
