When my electric dryer broke down recently, I was on the fence whether to have it repaired or buy a new one. So I started searching for a drying rack to do the job until I made up my mind. Somewhere along the way, I came across the listing for the Panda Ventless Dryer. I read the reviews, and they were generally favorable--in that the unit does what it's supposed to do, given reasonable expectations. Meaning, if you are wanting the power of a full sized dryer, then buy a full-sized dryer! But if you are open-minded and want a simple and effective method to dry your laundry, this could do for you. To aid you, allow me to give you a few pearls from my experience: 1. Do not overload. If you are cramming the poor thing until it can barely zip closed this will not dry satisfactorily. The garments need a bit of air circulation. I use a standing garment rack to hang dry some of my wash, and use the Panda for heavier items like pants and bath towels. You could dry all your garments in the Panda, but for me it's a more efficient use of time. Put your clothes on hangers and hang them in the dryer so they don't crowd each other. Then zip it closed and set the timer. 2. Ignore the reviews by the peeps who claim they dried their clothes in 20 minutes. Especially if, like myself, you live in the northeast US. I have been using this unit in the hottest summer on record, with 70-100% humidity. If you expect results at this small amount of time, you will think something is wrong with your dryer. There isn't! Go ahead and set the timer for the full 180 minutes. What I do is let it run a few hours, then check for garments that are dry or almost dry. Remove them, and you are free to add new pieces. When the timer runs down, simply start the 180 minute cycle over again. It takes a little practice to streamline your personal system, but once you have it down you may like it better than a conventional dryer. 3. Buy yourself some helpful accessories. I bought a bag of clothes clips and they make hanging clothes on hangers so much easier. With the clips I can hang 4 or 5 pairs of undies or socks on a single hanger. Or attach jeans and pants so they can hang full length in the dryer. I find they are great for all ny logistical laundry hanging problems. And they were cheap! As I mentioned, I bought an inexpensive clothing rack to hang some of my laundry to air dry. It's also handy to put items that are a bit damp to finish drying, while freeing up space in the Panda. Another thing I will comment on is laundry softness. Like any hang drying method, your clothes will come out less wrinkled. But if you want your clothes Snuggle-soft, you may be disappointed. To help with this, buy some nice fabric softener. The clothes will come out softer than without, and they will smell lovely. Well, that's all I've got, folks! My review is that the Panda is a great little dryer if you are willing to work with it's limitations and not against. There's nothing complicated to using it properly. Just basic common sense. After getting to know it, I find that i really enjoy using it. So much in fact that I have put my decision about my broken full-sized dryer on "HOLD". Indefinitely! ... show more

Listen, I live in a tiny cramped studio apartment, I barely had enough room to arrange a washer in my apartment. I was using a clothes line to dry my clothes in the summer, which worked well, but then fall came and so did the rain. I desperately needed a dryer, but I knew even the tiniest dryer on Amazon would be too big and I have very limited space. Bought this panda dryer because it was foldable, easy to store, put together and actually dries clothes. Best purchase I have made thus far. This thing really works, but there are some things to consider and those things are the reason people rate this product so low. 1. It’s not like a regular tumbling dryer, clothes hang on the rack and warm/hot air circulate through. If you over crowd the rack, clothes won’t dry all the way, clothes need space for the air to circulate and penetrate through the clothes. 2. The hot/warm air doesn’t circulate at a high volume, meaning it doesn’t dry your clothes within 30-60mins like a tumbling dryer, depending on your clothes it could take anywhere from 30mins to 3 or 4 hours. 30 mins for women’s panties, 3 or 4 hours for men’s laborer work pants. But it does dry them, sometimes you’ll need to rearrange the position of your clothes on the rack so the warm air can penetrate every area on the clothes, not a big deal. This panda dryer has a timer like traditional tumbling dryers, so once timer is done it turns off. So as you’re waiting 3 or 4 hours go do some other chores, start dinner, run errands, enjoy your day etc. it’s really not the end of the world unless you desperately need a shirt dry within 10 mins, in that case, plan ahead. Not too hard. Anyways, 3. In my case for my studio apartment it does make my apartment quite warm, didn’t notice it in the summer, but now I am, especially since I’ll have it on roughly 6-8 hours when I’m doing a few loads on laundry in a day. Literally if you have no other option and desperately need some way to dry your clothes, this is it. I love it. I don’t recommend this to people who are impatient and give you easily. ... show more
