  • Can expend to more handsets but it's not automatic
Style: 2 Handsets
This is my second time buying this phone, first time was about 5 years ago. The base unit no longer charged the phones and one of the handsets would no longer ring. So decided to go with same phone which would give me a spare phone and a second charging unit (and the one phone that doesn't ring but will work other wise). Connected up the new phone and the old ones wouldn't connect... some how I thought it would be automatic with it suppose to handle up to 6 phones but no. Alright, so have to go into the phone's menu. In the bottom right of the display where it says "menu" there is a little button, press that and will be in menu, use the big round button and press down until reach "initial setup", select that with that small button. Now using the gig button again scroll down to "registration", select that. Now press the locator button on the base unit for at least 5 seconds. It will beep or something or maybe nothing, didn't seem consistent. Turn hand set off (hang up) and back on, check for a dial tone and if there is it worked. If not try again. I think it's a matter of timing between selecting "register" and pressing the locate button on the base station. It's a relatively cheap phone price wise but it's functionable. I really don't use any of the features like call block, speed dial or voice mail or such. I have an internet phone line and all of those features are handled that way. The caller ID function works and I do use the speaker phone function to increase the volume of the phone otherwise I think it's not usually loud enough, I just hold it a little further away from my ear and if I need to do something using both hands I can set it down on the table and still hear it and be heard. All in all figure on needing to replace parts of it in 5 years or so. My base unit stopped charging a couple of months ago but the handset charging unit still work, just needed to keep swapping out phones on the charger. One of the phones stop ringing a few weeks ago was a bigger problem, if I had the phone that does ring on the handset charger in the bedroom then couldn't hear it ring. If I did hear the good phone ring and had the non ringer near me I could answer the call with it. Oh well, now I have 3 good phones and can stop using that non ringing phone. Nice thing is the phones do use two standard AAA NiMH Batteries, one of the phones batteries stopped holding a charge and I bought a few of those through Amazon and replaced the old Panasonic batteries. I prefer that over stuff with built in lithium batteries. I have NiMH Batteries that are over 10 years old I still use, just use a slow charger and the batteries last longer. A fast charger can cut battery life by 50%. ... show more

  • Better than expected
Style: 2 Handsets
This phone has good range, loud and clear audio, runs a long time on one charge (standby and talk time). The AAA NiMH batteries are widely available and not costly to replace. This phone is so much better than my old analog Panasonic cordless phone.

  • love this phone.
Style: 2 Handsets
I do not use a cell and have only used a landline for a very long time and wanted a portable phone w/o having to go to 5 G or a cell. This looked like the best choice , quality and price and it IS. It is everything the ad says, nice size, volume and other features easy to use and it is excellent quality and has the speaker option and some really nice features i have not had before. I do not know what the 'lock' feature is so didn't rate it. i AM SO GLAD it is what i wanted and even better than i expected so it's a keeper. It charges up fast and lasts a long time too. Can go a good distance with it from the base and don't lose contact with who calling . I am so pleased and sure i will be even more as i get to use the other features that i haven't yet. Very good instruction booklet too. ... show more

  • An adequate phone for the price.
Style: 2 Handsets
The quality of cordless phones has deteriorated as cell phones have become more popular so the really good, solidly built, $100+ cordless phones of 20 years ago have been replaced by inexpensive, disposable multi-packs at a quarter of the cost. The problem is that the few cordless phones still available feel flimsy rather than substantial. Having said that, this Panasonic two-pack is adequate. My biggest dislike is hearing an echo of my voice in my ear when I talk. I don't think the party I talk to hears it but I can hear myself through the receiver as I speak. The sound quality is otherwise good and the phone has several nice features. Other than the feedback and the fact that the phone only weighs a few ounces, unlike the solid feel that phones of yesteryear had, this is a decent phone for the price. Personally, I would rather pay more for a better phone but cordless phones are hard to find these days and among the handful that are made by the remaining three or four manufacturers, I would opt for this one. I have always chosen Panasonic phones and prefer them over the other brands. ... show more
