This Panasonic Cordless Phone with Big Buttons and Talking Caller ID has many great features, but, I find that it is a bit slippery to hold on to. Because I have a tendency to drop things it's a pet peeve of mine that plastic devices with narrow bodies usually have nothing on them to grip on to. It's very easy for their slick and smooth plastic casing to slip through and out of the hand. Why don't designers put something in their designs that makes it easier for us to hold on to their device? I also think that the handset of this cordless phone could have been designed to fit better in the hand. Not only is it slippery to hold on to, it's also bottom heavy. I'm not 80 years old yet but when I am 80 I wouldn't want to have to constantly bend over and pick this telephone up off the floor after it had slipped out of my hand. One last thing bugs me about this Panasonic Cordless Telephone. The red Off button on the right appears to be set lower than the green Talk button on the left. Maybe the phone was designed that way but it bugs me that one button looks lower than the other. It looks to me like the red Off button was pressed down to end a call and then got permanently stuck in that position. I love that this Panasonic cordless phone has multiple features that can help cut down on unwanted spam calls. In my opinion the most fun of these features is the Automated call block feature. Incoming calls are required to enter a code if this feature is enabled. Yes! Let's put those spam callers to work entering those codes! This cordless phone can announce incoming calls. This cordless phone can legally record an incoming telephone call by announcing to the caller that the call is going to be recorded. It is not legal in some places to record a phone call without notifying the other party beforehand. I think that the handset of this Panasonic Cordless Phone with Big Buttons and Talking Caller ID could use some improvement, but, at the same time, I have to admit that this telephone has some really great features. Well, I frequently receive unwanted calls, robocalls, and other spam calls, so I wanted to try this Panasonic KX-TGU430B cordless phone to see if it can help stop all this nonsense. It boasts of advanced features such as advanced call blocking and 2-way recording with an answering machine. My first impression of the phone was positive, as it has a sleek all-black design that looks great on my desk. The handsets feel comfortable to hold and the buttons are large and easy to press. The setup process is quick and easy, practically plug-and play. Once it's set up, the phone works flawlessly. The phone's interface is very user-friendly, the display is exceptionally large and easy to read, and I'm able to access its function with ease. The phone's answering machine functions well, and I was able to customize my greetings and access my messages remotely with ease. The sound quality of the phone is particularly good with the help of Volume Boost feature. The phone also has a useful feature that allows me to locate a misplaced handset by pressing a button on the base unit. Another cool feature is a built-in flashlight that could be really helpful, especially for elderly people in the dark or in case of an emergency situation. Other useful features include bilingual talking caller ID (only English or Spanish supported though), visible ringer light on each handset, and a speakerphone for hands-free talking. The phone comes with only one handset, but you can easily expand it up to 6 handsets as needed. Now to the main selling point of this phone. The call block feature works perfectly, allowing me to easily block unwanted calls from telemarketers and scammers. I was able to easily add numbers to the blocked calls list with just one button click. Besides that, it can filter out most spam calls automatically, by asking callers to press 1 to connect, which robocallers can't do! In addition, this phone has a one-ring scam alert that warns me of potential fraud calls. If you did not know, the one-ring scam, also known as "Wangiri" scam, is a type of phone fraud that is becoming increasingly common. In this scam, fraudsters use an automated dialing system to call random phone numbers, let the phone ring only once, and then hang up. The idea behind the one-ring scam is to trick people into calling back the missed call number, which is usually a premium-rate number that charges a high fee per minute. When the victim calls back, they are put on hold for an extended period, racking up a large bill without realizing it. This Panasonic phone really helps to avoid such sort of scams. Overall, I think the Panasonic KX-TGU430B is a versatile and reliable cordless phone that offers a range of features that can be useful for home or office use. The call blocking feature and other advanced features make it a particularly useful phone for anyone looking to avoid unwanted calls. Bottom line: Yes, I would recommend the Panasonic KX-TGU430B for those who want a versatile cordless phone with call block and answering machine features. Long battery life and the phone's other features are particularly useful and functional. It has an answering machine, excellent call blocking, a one-ring scam alert, 2-Way recording, built-in flashlight, speakerphone, up to +12 dB volume boost, and handset locator.
