  • Some helpful tips and an update
Size: 8' x 12' x 8'
Putting this thing together is a bear, so I’m here to offer a few helpful tips. First, do not attempt this on any day with wind over 5-7 mph. Your walls will be blown over in a flash. Second, unless you have six assistants, prepare some bracing as shown in my photos. Until you get all those bottom walls in place, it’s like a house of cards waiting to collapse. Third, note that the aluminum corner braces need to be attached in the tracks, not on the screw at the bottom. If you attach it at the bottom, it’s too tight and your walls buckle. Once all bottom walls are in and the two roof ends attached with the support down the middle, it gets easier and much more stable. It’s safe to take a lunch break and take down the extra bracing (Though we left some until the end). The rest goes together fairly easily, until you get to the doors. Stand the doors on the long side to assemble. Trying it flat is futile. And pay attention to the part numbers for the bottoms or your magnets won’t fit. For those who are building an attached potting shed, like we are, the roof pitch is 10/12 (more specifically 10.66/12, so you can plan ahead. For those with snow, the roof can handle 15 lbs per sq ft. (We plan to install additional support when we close her up from Dec-March and clear it with a roof rake if we get more than a few inches.) Ours has been up for a week, withstood a decent rainstorm with 32 mph gusts, and it did great. I stood inside during the storm and it stayed pretty dry and quiet—just a hint of a rattle with the biggest gusts. Never felt like it was in any danger of collapse or blow out. In fact, now that’s it’s finished, it feels quite stable. We are very happy with our purchase. UPDATE: the greenhouse has been up for 8 months. We just had a windstorm with winds/gusts around 60 mph, and if we hadn’t added the wire kit tie downs to this greenhouse, it most definitely would be gone. I was out there watching the entire thing, which is screwed down to a significant wooden platform underneath and to the side of a potting shed, shift dramatically in the wind. One panel worked itself loose but it was kept in place by the wire that ran over the top and down both sides. In the end, the greenhousestayed together, but it wouldn’t have. Invest in the wire tie-downs. They are worth every Penny. We plan to add two more running side ways from the shed to the ends of the greenhouse for added protection. I will also include photos of what we did inside to help with snow load. Update #2: despite adding the hurricane wire kit and an additional strapping kit, we lost one panel in a recent windy episode. The winds were only 30 sustained, 45-50 gusts. It’s less than a year old, sheltered by a wind break, and secured in multiple ways. Rather disheartening. ... show more

  • Piece of crap
Size: 8' x 12' x 8'
This was a nightmare. I can't believe how horrible this was to attempt to assemble. Flimsy crappy frame that would bend and fall over before we could put other pieces on. Pieces came not just bent but the aluminum had pieces that were bent so badly they were torn. When we finally got to the trusses the pieces wouldn't fit on even after 2 hours of trying to attach it to the back wall. The instructions....crap. there are only pictures and they don't make a lot of sense. The walls....the py carbonate....junk. thin...easily damaged garbage. Waste of money. I don't believe that any of the good reviews about this product were true....I think people were paid to say good things about this. It's so flimsy and everytime the wind blew the tiniest bit while we were trying to put this piece of crap together....the panels would come out on the back wall and we would have to pull them out and put them back together again. Do not give these people your money. A huge headache. A huge waste of time. A huge waste of money. If you listen to any reviews listen to this one....do not buy this. ... show more

  • Flimsy
Size: 8' x 12' x 8'
Not quite two years old, went through two winters without a problem. Pain to put up and now two years later some 40 mph wind took out the front of the greenhouse! Two winters of blizzards and 50-60 mph winds and now this

  • Very solid when fully assembled
Size: 8' x 12' x 8'
Pros: This greenhouse is very stable and sturdy when fully assembled. 1 person can assemble most of the greenhouse in about 16 hours. Directions are rather easy to follow, but there are a few typos. Other than a measurement which said 7/6” but should have said 7/16”, there is at lease one parts qty. error in the assembly instructions. It is ingeniously designed. It can be assembled in a close-by location and carefully moved onto the final foundation. I was able to install the 4mm roof panels with only about 2’ side clearance, even though Palram told me 4-5’ side clearance was recommended. Cons: It took almost 3 hours to verify all the greenhouse parts were shipped. Plan accordingly and have several tables available for the smaller metal braces and use marked cupcake pans for all the nuts, bolts, etc. Panels arrived slightly bent/dented on a couple of corners, but not so severe as to impede construction. I used sealing/venting tape from another company (out of stock at Amazon) on top/bottom of panels, so the slight damage was then hidden. The sealing tape also keeps out ants and other critters that would crawl between the twin-wall panels. Since this is the way I have received Palram polycarbonate roofing panels from Home Depot, I would assume this is a typical situation. The greenhouse does not have tight tolerances so the resulting assembly has several small areas which allow the passage of air to/from the greenhouse interior. There are also many excellent hiding places for all kinds of bugs. Inadequate sealing of the front doors and the roof vents. This is just sloppy design. The 2 roof vents are disappointing in the way they are “attached” to the roof frame. It will be a challenge not to drop them during installation. There is no way of easily attaching shade cloth on the inside at either end of the greenhouse. I used the plastic plant hangers which worked well, but left the front 2 feet at the entrance unprotected from above. There are a few small holes in the greenhouse frame you could use to wire in the shadecloth. General Information: I chose to assemble the greenhouse on top of a 4x4” treated wood foundation with 12” galvanized spikes (countersunk) holding it to the ground and 5/16” x1” galvanized lag screws holding the greenhouse to the pressure-treated wood. This required considerable planning. You will need a second person for the upper back wall and possibly the upper front wall. If you use blue painter’s tape, you can make these assemblies more stable so the panels do not fall out. There are a couple of places you would not want to stop assembly and a couple where there is less risk. Read ahead in the instructions...and read the instruction carefully. They are much easier to understand after the first few steps. And lastly, do not try to assemble this in any type of constant, or gusty, breeze. You will regret it. I hope this review seems objective. I would buy this brand again. ... show more

  • A sturdy and nice building.
Size: 8' x 12' x 8'
The greenhouse was difficult to construct, it took us 3 days. Be advised that you need calm weather to put it together, it is very fragile in the early stages. The instructions are difficult to understand since they are only pictorials, no words. Despite some doubts early on, once it is finished it is a solid, nice looking addition to our property. Our time and money really paid off in the end. ... show more
