  • Easily the best HVLP sprayer I’ve used so far Easily the best HVLP sprayer I’ve used so far
This is my third Batavia tool, and at this point I’m genuinely impressed with the brand. It’s becoming pretty clear to me that Batavia is not just some fly-by-night, random alphabet-soup tool brand. They seem to have a pretty broad lineup of corded and battery-powered tools that actually perform the way they claim, and they do it at a very reasonable price. The closest comparison I can make is something like WEN or VEVOR. Not perfect, not ultra high-end, but functional, decently made, nicely finished tools that offer a lot of value for the money. And while packaging does not matter much to me personally, I will say their packaging is surprisingly nice and has a more premium feel than expected. The same goes for the fit and finish of the tools I’ve tried so far. For context, this is a Vine review, but I always review products honestly. I don’t give five stars just because something was provided through Vine. I’ve rated products anywhere from one star to five stars depending on how they actually perform. This one earned the five stars. This is my fourth HVLP sprayer. I have two corded sprayers with the blower built into the gun body, one that works okay and one that really does not. I also have a battery-operated sprayer in a similar style, but even in testing it seemed a little splotchy, like it was struggling to fully atomize the finish. This Batavia sprayer is a completely different animal. The biggest difference is the separate turbine unit. Instead of having the blower built into the spray gun, this uses a separate turbine connected by a hose. The airflow is night and day better than the smaller integrated HVLP sprayers I’ve tried. When I first plugged it in just to test the airflow, I pointed it across the kitchen from about 10 feet away and my wife could feel it while doing dishes. It was moving her hair around. That told me pretty quickly this had a lot more air behind it than the budget handheld sprayers I’ve used before. I used it today on a resurfacing/painting project with Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel, which is a notoriously thick paint and usually needs a fair amount of thinning for HVLP use. With this sprayer, I barely thinned it and it still sprayed beautifully. It laid down a really nice, smooth surface, and the results were honestly better than I expected. For the price, this sprayer is extremely impressive. I’ve seen this style of HVLP setup before, but they are usually much more expensive, so I had never really jumped into one. This Batavia unit gives you a lot of the benefit of that separate-turbine design without the painful price tag. Overall, I’m very happy with it. Strong airflow, good atomization, excellent results with thicker trim paint, and a much better experience than the other HVLP sprayers I’ve tried. If you’re looking for a capable paint sprayer for DIY projects, furniture, trim, cabinets, resurfacing work, or general home projects, this is absolutely worth considering. ... show more

  • Time saving budget-friendly paint sprayer! Time saving budget-friendly paint sprayer!
I've never used a paint sprayer before, this was my first try! I will continue working with this machine to eliminate excessive overspray and get better control. My first impression is that this is a lot like having a small shop vac in reverse. I would strongly recommend that you get a big cardboard box and practice with this and the included nozzles before starting an actual product. You might even check out the paint department at your local home store because they often sell mis-tinted paints at a low price. This will give you some paint to practice with. This is a machine that you want to get used to before you paint with it if you are not familiar with these types of HVLP khigh volume low pressure) sprayers. I, however, decided to just go for it! 🤦🏽 I got a paint tent and used it to save time when painting my custom butterfly planters. Setting it up was easy, the included instructions are very detailed and super easy to follow. Thinning the paint with water was also pretty simple. There's a viscosity cup included so you keep adding a little bit of water at a time until your paint runs out of the cup in the allotted time frame. The paint does not have to be super runny. Follow the manufacturers guide times for allowing paint to set up before adding a second coat. In other words, don't do what I did! 😂 My painted item was complex with lots of slats and angles and voids. Trying to paint underneath the slats and shelves with this sprayer caused a lot of overspray and dripping. (Again, my project was pretty complex for someone who has never used a paint sprayer.) It was a learning experience! The sprayer did its job, applying the paint evenly. I have since learned that the quality of the paint also matters. Paint from our national chain department store had a brand name but was not as good a quality as the paints from our home store. I got done with the painting pretty quickly. If I had used a brush or roller it would have taken considerably longer. I think this is an excellent tool if you are unpracticed and painting a shed or deck or walls. This machine and I are going to get very friendly as I work through home improvement projects including redoing our front steps and porch. My first paint project with the Batavia wasn't great, but it was not horrible, either. Due to the type of project I was doing and the inexpensive Glidden exterior latex paint from Walmart, I had a lot of drips and running. Machine cleanup was easy, I did not have to use anything but hot water and dish soap. This isn't a machine you're going to break out to do a small job, it is definitely good for bigger projects. For smaller jobs, I will stick with a brush or roller. But if you've got a big project coming up I definitely recommend this Batavia sprayer. After I used it outdoors, one of my neighbors borrowed it to repaint his ~10x15' side porch. Chad definitely had better luck with the finish because he started off with much better quality paint - so doing the railings, columns, and ceiling was easy and fast. He said it would have taken him over a week to finish with a brush but it took him about 2 hours with this sprayer and a 3-ft step ladder. He has back problems and it had taken him a whole weekend to do his small 4' x 6' front landing with a brush & roller (and 2 weeks to recover) when he saw me spraying and asked to borrow my Batavia sprayer. He even bought us pizza! I looked at more expensive sprayers from other brands but settled on the Batavia because it fit my budget and needs. I'm happy that I have it and I will be learning to use it better. It definitely does the job! ... show more

  • Nice sprayer, good price
For any homeowner looking to upgrade their home improvement game, this paint sprayer delivers a beautiful, professional-grade finish that completely outperforms traditional brushes and rollers. I used this sprayer to prime and paint several interior doors, and the results were exceptionally smooth, with absolutely no visible streaks, brush marks, or heavy buildup. Beyond the pristine final coat, the sprayer is remarkably easy to set up and clean out once you are familiar with the components. This effortless maintenance makes switching between primer and paint a breeze, saving massive amounts of time during multi-stage weekend projects. The only real downside is that the included assembly instructions can be a bit ambiguous and confusing to parse right out of the box. Figuring out how the internal seals and nozzles fit together requires a bit of trial and error because the manual lacks clear, step-by-step clarity. However, once you successfully assemble the unit that first time and understand how the parts connect, it becomes second nature and presents absolutely no problems on future projects. It is a highly effective, time-saving tool that I would easily recommend to any DIYer looking to achieve a factory-smooth finish on doors, trim, or cabinets. ... show more

  • Useful once you get the hang of it
I used this BATAVIA paint sprayer for a few home projects where a brush would have taken too long, and it worked better than I expected once I got the settings adjusted. The separate motor and 6-foot hose make it easier to handle than sprayers where all the weight is in your hand. It still takes a little practice to get an even coat, but after testing it on scrap material first, the spray pattern became much easier to control. I like that it comes with different nozzles and spray patterns because not every job needs the same setup. For wider surfaces like a fence or larger furniture piece, the broader pattern is helpful, while the smaller nozzle makes more sense for cabinets or tighter areas. The finish looked smoother than what I usually get with a brush, especially on flat surfaces, though I did have to be careful not to move too slowly or spray too close. Cleanup is the part that takes the most patience, but that seems normal for any paint sprayer. I would not call it completely effortless, but it does save time once everything is thinned, tested, and ready to go. For occasional house painting, furniture, cabinets, or DIY projects, it feels like a useful tool to have around without being overly complicated. It’s a good fairly economical spayer that helps speed up small to big projects. ... show more

  • Takes getting used to but nice coverage Takes getting used to but nice coverage
This sprayer actually worked better than I expected once I figured it out. There is definitely a learning curve at first, especially with figuring out the right spray pattern and how fast to move your hand. I would strongly recommend practicing on cardboard, scrap wood, or something you do not care about before starting your actual project. Once I got used to it, it gave a nice even coat and covered the wall much faster than using a roller. I used it for indoor painting and liked that it came with different nozzles and spray settings to adjust the finish. It is also lighter than I expected and not too hard to handle. Cleaning it takes some time, but that seems pretty normal with paint sprayers. For the price, I think it is a good option for DIY projects and home painting jobs. ... show more

  • Batavia products have been proving themselves as good products to me. This sprayer is good!
Definitely a learning curve with this sprayer, but once you get the hang of it, it actually works really quite well! Better than my battery powered sprayer that I had been using. This one delivers a much more even spray of paint. I have only used it outside so far, but my plan is to do my bathroom indoors as well now that I have gotten more used to how it works and how to adjust the spray patterns. Cleaning was not too bad...although definitely more difficult than the little battery powered ones. As for the brand, I have several Batavia products now and ALL of them seem to be pretty good quality! MUCH better quality than the cheap ones...but maybe not quite as good as the main name brands...but over-all I think this brand is one I would buy in the future. ... show more

  • Simple paint sprayer to use, easy to set up, wired compressor, 6.5 foot hose, paints anything Simple paint sprayer to use, easy to set up, wired compressor, 6.5 foot hose, paints anything
This is a great paint sprayer for less than $100. It comes with everything you need to get started. It's really easy to use compared to normal paint spray guns. It was simple to set up. It only has like 4 pieces. Assembling i takes like 60 seconds. The air compressor is really good and gives a nice flow. It has 4 nozzles that you can rotate through for different line thickness. The nozzles range from 1mm to 4mm. The gun really light and easy to hold. The hose is 6.5 feet. You want to make sure you use sprayable paint with this unit. This would be a great sprayer for a beginner, but it's good enough for professional use too. The compressor is really light. It does need to be plugged into the wall because it doesn't have a built-in battery. But it has a lot of power and the compressor and gun and light and easy to move around as you paint. But just keep in mind, this is a wired unit, not wireless. You can paint pretty much anything you can think of with this unit. You can use it to paint walls, fences, furniture, art, etc. Overall, I really like this unit. Batavia makes good products and this paint sprayer is very good. I would absolutely recommend this unit. It feels well-made and sturdy and it's very easy to use. ... show more
