Description

Pacific Coast is the leading supplier of premium down pillows and down comforters to leading hotels in the US. Pacific Coast: Guardians of Rest Since 1884 At the edge where the wild Pacific meets timeless craftsmanship, a legacy of sleep was born. For 141 years, Pacific Coast has not merely made bedding—we’ve engineered sanctuaries, standing sentinel between humanity and restless nights like the ancient redwoods that watch over our shores. Our feather and down is sourced from humanely treated poultry and is free from heavy metal contamination. We focus on every detail, ensuring that each step of our process is perfected to bring you the best sleep experience. This comforter's design and construction is not sewn through, but has a vertical wall of fabric, baffle, joining the upper and lower portions of the shell. Baffles allow the down fill to reach it's maximum loft and prevent the down from shifting and creating cold spots. Down comforters designed using a baffle are typically much more expensive to manufacture than a sewn-thru box construction. Goose Down Fiber Duvet Lightweight Comforter Goose Down Comforter Heavyweight Comforter How to fluff the comforter? This duvet is compressed in a vacuum pack to save space. After opening , let it air out in a dry spot for at least 24 hours. If you can, run it in the dryer on low heat to fluff it up. How do I wash my down fiber comforter? This duvet is not machine washable, it is advisable for you to dry clean tumble dry low (max60°C/140°F)or spot clean it! Does this comforter smell? If you are sensitive to smells may notice a slight odor due to natural feathers and down fibers. Please don't worry, it is normal and safe for us. Please air it for a while when the weather is nice, the smell will gradually fade away. Are these feathers and down harvested ethically? Yes. Our duvet is filled with ethically sourced and responsibly harvested down fibers and feather fibers, which follow the Responsible Down Standard (RDS). No live plucking or force-feeding. • Excellent Comforter!
Size: Queen
I purchased the this comforter and the Australian cotton 420TC, 100% goose down comforter for $149 to choose between the two. Both are “all season.” Both look great. There are notable differences.. -This one has a 60 cotton/40 poly shell, which technically would be warmer than the all cotton, but the difference isn’t really noticeable.. -The all cotton will yellow faster than the cotton/poly. -The fill in this one is “goose feather down,” the other is “100% goose down.” -Both are battle boxed stitched to keep the down from migrating out of each box, BUT the down in the other one settles into one area of the box, leaving dead spots, where it’s just shell, no down, a total deal breaker for me! The down in THIS comforter stays even in each box. -Someone mentioned a “plasticky” feel of the shell, but I think it’s more of a crispness that will dissipate with use. The all cotton one feels the same. -This one is nicely lightweight. It’s warm, but not hot. It seems to just hold in your own body temp. The other one is heavier and to me, just didn’t feel as comfortable. I tend to sleep hot. I used this one with the A/C on and it still kept me warm. I put it in a duvet the second night and it didn’t get too warm, felt perfect. -This one costs $40 more than the other one, which seemed odd to me being that the other is Australian cotton and 100% goose down, but nevertheless, it’s worth every penny. So, IMHO, this comforter is far better, well and feels just delicious! Both are a generous Queen fit at 90x90” and both are extremely well made to be durable. I slept so comfortably. Highly, highly recommend THIS comforter!♥️ ... show more

  • Pacific Coast comforter the best!!
Size: King
Pacific Coast Goose Feather Down hands down best comforters. We had to replace one that was several years old last year - yes!! They really last that long. We do keep it in a duvet cover to ensure it stays crisp and clean. Okay, honestly we keep it in a cover because our miniature Schnauzer sleeps with us, and I want the comforter to stay clean!! Cover much easier to wash than having comforter cleaned. Wow - glad I got that off my chest. We love this one as it is a baffle box comforter, which makes small 3D like boxes on your comforter, which ensures the down spreads out but stays in its “compartment” so the comforter keeps its beautiful baffle box fluffy design. This comforter has eight ties that you secure to the duvet cover (if you choose to use one), and keeps its design through the cover; not as detailed through the cover (which means not as beautiful as without cover), but that’s your choice. Once secured with the eight ties, the comforter does not move around inside the cover. This is definitely all season comforter. Perfect in summer and winter. If we get a little chilly in the winter, we toss a light blanket across it. Our temp stays at 74 year round (mainly due to sprayed foam insulation throughout home) and we’re always comfortable. I absolutely love our bedding. I love our home, but my favorite place in our home is our bed!! It is so comfortable to slide underneath the comforter, and let it engulf you into its happy little world. Much to my husband’s disdain, I have a tendency to lay in bed later every morning just because it’s so comfortable. We ordered the King Size. It is bright white. The cover, which we also ordered from Amazon) is not bright white; white, but not bright white. For us it’s okay because of our doggie - who sometimes loves to run from the yard chasing a squirrel straight back to our bed. The cover is our protection. If you don’t have the same issue, I would probably not use a cover over it. The comforter is just so beautiful. Oh - and did I mention how comfortable it is??? I feel like I’m leaving something out. I took pictures on bed-linen change day so was able to take pictures of comforter spread out on the floor. Plus I’m a constant fluffer - with or without cover on. I remember one other thing now. I have seen zero feathers come out of the comforter. I think a few people said they had seen some, but we have not, and like I said, I’m a constant fluffer. Some of the pictures show how far down the king size fits on our bed. Others may want a larger king size; personal preference. Ohhhhh- getting the comforter into the duvet cover is a treat (sarcasm). I YouTubed until I found a system I liked (or thought I could live with). It was called burrito or taco roll method. I did tweak it a bit, but think I’ve got the system down (maybe). I hope this review helps. I’ve tried to think of everything. ... show more

  • Wonderful and satisfying!
Size: Super King
This comforter is absolute heaven a little bit of Heaven. It’s soft, warm, and soft to the touch! It’s large enough , it covers my whole bed and then some! I know I’m old, s I’m of the times I liked all goose down, this has a certain filler that feels lightweight and in all honesty, told me what is sustainable. The description that you read online here is honest and if you enjoy having a warm night under a lightweight feel that keeps you warm and comforted throughout the night, it certainly seems durable and I believe the price is worth what you receive, I would definitely recommend it! I would am delighted with this and the cover makes sure that the, filler is evenly distributed. If you purchase this, all bases are covered and I hope you enjoy yous as much as I am mine. ... show more

  • A Year In, Still Holding Up
Size: King
I've had this comforter for over a year now, and the thing that actually earns it a review — not just a purchase — is that I still don't have feathers working their way out of the fabric. Anyone who's owned a cheaper down comforter knows exactly what I mean: that slow, annoying leak of little quills poking through until you're finding them on the floor months later. This one hasn't done that, and a year of daily use is a real test, not just an unboxing impression. The other thing I didn't expect is how much I'd use it across seasons. It's light and breathable enough that I'm not kicking it off in the middle of the night in warmer months, but it still has enough warmth to be my go-to comforter once it's actually cold. I was fully prepared to swap it out seasonally the way I have with past comforters, and I just haven't needed to. For something you're sleeping under every night, quality construction isn't a luxury — it's the difference between something that holds up and something you're replacing in a year anyway. This one's held up. ... show more

  • ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Decent, Lightweight Comforter but Inconsistent Experience
Size: Queen
This was my first down comforter, and overall it was decent. The first one I purchased was very lightweight and comfortable, and it worked well for moderate temperatures. However, when the weather dropped lower at night, it didn’t always provide enough warmth. I later purchased a second one, and my experience was noticeably different. This one caused me to overheat a lot, which was surprising given how lightweight it feels. It’s possible that it needs to be washed or properly air-dried to restore the fill, but even so, it feels like the down fiber clumps more easily, which affects breathability and temperature regulation. Because of that, the quality feels a bit inconsistent between units. When it’s good, it’s comfortable and light, but the fill doesn’t seem as high quality or evenly distributed compared to better comforters I’ve tried since. Overall, it’s not a bad option if you want something light and fluffy, but if you’re sensitive to temperature changes or prone to overheating, this may not be the most reliable choice—especially depending on the individual comforter you receive. ... show more

  • I love my Pacific Coast down comforter!
Size: Oversized King
I have a Pacific Coast Pillow and love it, and now I can say I love my Pacific Coast down comforter too! After researching the different 3D box stitching, this one stood out because it's not only 3-D, but it is stitched all the way around, where no down material can pass through to other boxes. I had one before that I purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond, and it had small areas in each box that allowed for the down to move from box to box. At the time, it was explained that it was a good thing, but it is not because the down ends up going to the far ends of the comforter, ie the edges and not on you. With this comforter, that will never happen since it's stitched all the way around. The exterior is very soft, silky, and pretty. I followed the instructions, and it fluffed up nicely and feels pillowy. The quality is excellent and high-end. I'm very happy with my choice. We have a Cal King Bed. I purchased the oversized king down comforter and this oversized duvet cover for it. Fits perfectly and has a smooth and luxurious feel. • Happy Customer
Size: King
Very happy with this purchase! At first, I was a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviews. It came in a delightful package with protective bag, tissue, and wonderful smelling air freshener. Upon opening, it was vacuumed sealed and very flat. I was worried but after about an hour on the bed, it fluffed up nicely. I purchased Pacific Coast because I had an older duvet from the brand years and years ago. I compared the thickness and they are comparable. Overall, the feathers feel quality and I am happy I went with Pacific Coast again. ... show more
