  • Great tool! Watch out for nozzle tip split, can be fragile.
Style Name: New Vesion
Fan head can be used with smaller medium needle, just increase the pressure. Edit 6/13/2022: Contact Paasche through the customer service email on their website and they will offer to help. I emailed them asking for advice on a potential fix and they just offered to replace the brush if I send it to them. Which is great service that I wasn't necessarily looking for but will not turn down. I will update my review after I receive it and have time to find out if there are any issues! 7/4/22 New brush is fine. Turns out somehow the biggest nozzle had somehow broke and split. I started having the same paint bubbling problem with the new brush when I suddenly noticed this since I was using the original nozzles from my Amazon purchase. Paasche service is great and they sent me a new brush sans accessories no issue when I just wanted some help troubleshooting the problem. I just wish I had noticed the nozzle sooner, but it is so small even the largest one. ____________ Original review text: This sounded like an incredible deal on paper. 3 needles and a fan nozzle and American made. However the reality is that perhaps some things slip through QA. Or I just had bad luck. First was the trigger and assembly, constantly getting stuck despite any adjustments to the lock but or assembly tension. The action felt very rough. As others suggested, I tried polishing and filing parts of both. This reduced it getting stuck some, but not enough. And I ended up introducing some filing marks. Fine let's just buy a replacement from Paasche. They are cheap ,easy to get and shipps fast directly from them. Trigger almost never got stuck after this, action still felt a little rough but not enough to be an issue. Then after 2 weeks of moderate use(Using only Mr.Hobby paints and thoroughly cleaning with lacquer thinner with each use) the airbrush started bubbling in the cup and paint would not flow properly. Not even lacquer thinner would run through anymore. So I adjusted and cleaned everything physically possible with multiple tools. Nope. That only left the needle packing assembly and nut. And low and behold it's already falling apart , I forgot to mention before I replaced the trigger at one point paint had also leaked into the trigger area a little. They sell replacements for this, but the packing washer is all but IMPOSSIBLE to remove. I was able to remove the nut, but nothing I did could dislodge the washer. Trying to lubricate it or clean it to help loosen it, to using a small flat head entering from the front of the disassembled front to try and push it out. I even took a hammer to the screwdriver to try and give it more force to get it out. At this point the brush is broken and unusuable. I am still within my return window, but I feel guilty about wanting to return it since I feel it mostly failed from actual use, no matter how little. When it worked, it was good. ... show more

  • Wow, what a difference a high quality airbrush makes!
Style Name: Old Version
For years I have been using various cheaper airbrushes, and getting pretty good results. But in the end I realized I was buying at least one cheap airbrush a year, I had one I used only for priming or sealing, one configured for .2 mm for fine details, another for .5mm for larger coverage, and others that were just for spare parts for those others, and I had to do a full disassembly and detail cleaning every session, sometimes in the middle of the session. I had enough problems that I would wait to use my airbrushes until I had several needs for it to justify the cleanup time afterwards. Then I saw this airbrush and realized that the price was less than I had in my numerous cheaper versions. It got me thinking, so I watched videos on it, read several reviews online and did a lot of research. Obviously I decided to give it a try, and I am very glad I did! First, it has a great, hefty weight, so it feels good in my hand and has a great balance. Second, the parts are ALL MARKED with lines to indicate which needle, seat, or cap they belong too, so you don't have to get out the micrometer to figure it out any more! Third, the cup feeds straight into the needle, so you don't waste paint, you can spray as little as one drop from your bottle. Fourth, the clean up is a breeze, color change is so fast I don't even use my old cheap ones anymore for touch up or finer details, as I can swap from one color to another, or from a high output to fine detail needle setup faster than I can even get the cheap one ready to paint! Finally, when I am finished for the night I don't have to take 30 minutes to clean them all. I simply clean it like I would for a quick color change, then pull the needle and wipe it down and reinsert it. About every other use I disassemble the whole thing and do a more detailed clean just to make sure issues don't build up, but I have seen no sign of any yet. As I said, I am glad I gave this one a try as I am loving it! I also recommend that you get the full kit, the wooden box isn't anything fantastic, but the three needle sizes are great and the fan cap covers a HUGE area. You can drain the entire paint cup in a few seconds using it if you are covering something huge! I am going to go back to the other airbrush reviews I have written and update them to include links to this airbrush and try to save some folks money and frustrations. It turns out that while you can spray paint out of nearly anything and get a decent result if you are a decent hobbyist; but a good quality airbrush does indeed make a huge difference in results and enjoyment while using it! ... show more

  • The box is just the icing on the cake.
Style Name: New Vesion
This is my first airbrush. (Not exactly, I purchased a compressor that came with three guns and they were all junk.I know this as I am a first time user and this airbrush worked flawlessly out of the box. Did I say I loved the box.

  • but this is my first airbrush and I'm pretty sure the trouble stems from me
Style Name: Old Version
Had to get a connector to attach hose to my compressor, but seems to work very well. I've had some trouble with it, but this is my first airbrush and I'm pretty sure the trouble stems from me, the user, and not the tool.

  • High quality airbrush, but...
Style Name: Old Version
I've had nothing but trouble in getting my paints to flow consistently. By default, this airbrush comes with a medium nozzle and needle installed (the .33 needle, I believe). This was frankly too big for most of the things I work with, so I swapped to the fine needle that came with the set (which, I'll admit, coming with 3 different needles and nozzles is a WONDERFUL touch). However, after fiddling with the needle flow settings and PSI settings, I cannot for the life of me get good flow with the fine needle. Whether using Alclad pre-thinned lacquers or Vallejo acrylics (Model Air, Mecha, and Model Color [the last hand thinned]), I constantly get variable flow. Bit of a bummer coming from a brand as well-regarded as Paasche, but this specific model just doesn't work well for my purposes. I also picked up a Badger Renegade Krome airbrush at the same time for super-fine details, and I can run the exact same paints through it with no issues at all. I did get this kit on sale for what I consider a heck of a deal but I wish at this point I had saved my money and had just gone with two Badger brushes. ... show more
