  • Bead Maker, More Like Gloss Maker
Size: 1 Gallon
After seeing many positive reviews online about P&S Bead Maker, I decided to give bead maker a try since I was on the search for a new spray applied sealant to use on my vehicles. I previously used Gyeon Wet Coat to protect my car’s paint, which is one of my favorite paint sealants, due to its longevity, ease of use, and great water beading/ shedding characteristics. Hydrophobic properties are very important to me, since I use a dedicated car air drier to blow dry my car after washing it, and having a hydrophobic sealant on the paint makes drying the car much easier. Unfortunately due to the drought we are currently having here in California, I won’t be able to wash my car with normal soap and water as often as I would like, therefore, I will have to resort to using rinseless washes as my primary wash method. Due to this change, I won’t be able to use Gyeon Wet Coat anymore, since Gyeon Wet Coat needs to be sprayed on a wet surface and then rinsed off, which is something that I can’t do with rinseless washes. This led me to search for a new spray applied sealant that I can use with rinseless washing, and that will still be hydrophobic enough for me to air dry my car, for the times that I am able to wash it with soap and water. Now that I have used bead maker on three different vehicles (2 coats each), I have come to my own conclusion, which I am going to share, to hopefully help someone out who is considering purchasing this sealant. Here are some of the things that I like and dislike about bead maker. Pros: Slickness 4/5 Gloss 5/5 Ease of use 5/5 Smells great 5/5 Cons: Hydrophobic properties 2/5 Longevity 2/5 Cure time 1/5 Chemical resistance 1/5 The first thing that I noticed upon initial application, is how easy it is to use bead maker. It leaves no streaking or hazing on painted or unpainted surfaces such as: plastics, glass, or trim. What it does leave behind though, is a nice glossy and slick feeling on paint and glass. The slickness feels almost as good as freshly waxed paint, which is very impressive for a spray sealant. After the initial application (on all 3 washed and decontaminated vehicles), I waited 4 hours before applying a second coat to all three vehicles, to ensure proper bonding of the sealant to the paint. Once the second layer of bead maker was left to cure for a day, I inspected all three vehicles, and noticed that they all looked very glossy and felt very slick to the touch. My initial impression of P&S Bead Maker was 5/5 since the paint looked and felt amazing. A few days after applying bead maker and letting the cars collect a decent amount of dust, pollen, road grime, and bird droppings I decided to wash the dirtiest vehicle with a rinseless wash solution. I started by spraying down all of the bird droppings with the rinseless wash solution, which usually gets them off the paint right away, but to my surprise none of the bird droppings were coming off. I then attempt to scrub the bird droppings off the paint with a wash mitt, but they were only partially coming off, and required the use a clay mitt to remove what was left of the bird droppings. Now that all the bird droppings were removed, I noticed that my paint had been etched by the bird droppings. This really disappointed me because in comparison to when I had Gyeon Wet Coat applied on my paint, I could simply spray down the bird droppings with my rinseless wash solution and they would rinse off completely, plus no etching was left behind by the bird droppings. Once that was taken care of, I proceeded washing the car and noticed that the wash mitt glided through the paint really easily, which was really impressive and helped me finish washing the car fairly quickly. I decided to continue my testing by washing another vehicle, but this time with soap and water. Unlike the other vehicle, this one did not have any bird droppings on it, but it did have a good amount of dust and pollen. During the pre-rinse I noticed that the water beading/shedding properties of the paint were poor, but I figured they were being masked by the layer of dust covering the paint, so I continued with the wash. After washing the paint with P&S Pearl Auto Shampoo, and doing the final rinse, I was very disappointed by the hydrophobic properties of the paint. I decided to towel dry the entire vehicle, in case there was some sort of residue left behind by the shampoo that could be masking the hydrophobic properties of bead maker, but once I finished drying the car and sprayed water on it again, the results were the same. Poor water beading and very slow water shedding, which was worse than a traditional carnauba paste wax. I repeated the same test on all three vehicles and even added a third coat of bead maker to one of the vehicles, but the results were still the same, poor water beading and slow water shedding. I expected that since bead maker is called bead maker, it would really perform well in that category, but it really left something to be desired in that department, not to mention its poor durability. In comparison to Gyeon Wet Coat, Wet Coat is much more hydrophobic (both in water beading and sheeting), has greater chemical resistance, is easier to apply (spray on rinse off), has better durability, no cure time, and gives a decent bump in gloss as well, but lacks the slickness and extreme gloss of bead maker. In conclusion, if you are looking for a product that gives you off the chart gloss and leaves a very slick surface, look no further. If you are looking for a product that actually protects the paint and has great water beading/ shedding properties, look elsewhere. Now that I did more research on bead maker I see that it is just a marketing gimmick when it comes to hydrophobicity. I would only recommend using bead maker to boost gloss for a car show (sort of like a quick detailer), but even then, you have to apply it at least a 2 hours before driving, to let it cure properly which really doesn’t make it a good quick detailer. I think the name of the product is very misleading and it should instead be called gloss maker. Save your money and make sure to do your research before purchasing bead maker, there are other products that perform much better out there. ... show more

  • Truly Amazing
Size: 1 Gallon
The media could not be loaded. I go through a lot of detail products and there are a few that I use over and over again. Bead Maker i one of those products. It is really just a topper. I don’t believe it adds any UV protection, and it only lasts a few weeks, but the results are amazing. Again, this is a last coat product so you will want to have a wax, sealant, or ceramic coating, fully cured before using. Application is a breeze. Wipe on and wipe off, although it does occasionally streak on hot surfaces or in humid environments but streaks are easily fixed. The true magic happens overnight after it has had a chance to rest. After about 8 hours it has this unbelievable gloss that brings it to the next level. However, the best way to enhance gloss is by starting with a well polished car, and sealing that gloss in with a durable coating such as ceramic or graphene. The attached video shows the merits of a ceramic coating when trying to clean a car without any running water or even a bucket of water , followed by an application of Bead Maker, and lastly how it appears after it does its magical transformation. It’s a little long but I encourage you to watch it to the end. Lastly, this stuff smells great. It’s a real winner. Even if you’re not a professional I encourage you to get the gallon size because you will find yourself using it all the time and because of the economics of buying in bulk size. ... show more

  • Good auto carpet cleaner
Size: 1 Gallon
Great carpet cleaner... and can be diluted 5:1. My only issue is I don't care for the "orange citrus" smell but I understand it is a "citrus cleaner."

  • Many Positive but on large negative.
Size: 1 Gallon
Amazing gloss and slickness! Car looks incredible after wash and sealant. Only big negative is that it attracts so much dirt. Never seen a product do this.

Purchased the jug and just refill the spray bottle like that it does not affect the paint and I have used the (turtle) brand that does hurt the paint. trust me some of the best detailing stuff you can buy!! ... show more
