Came in protective packing. Great feel to the handles and sharpness. I like that each knife has it's own sheath. Be careful cutting open the plastic packaging that encases the knives as I cut the top off the package the instructions were cut because they were between the outer two papers.

    • Should include sheaths (updated review)
ALL ceramic knives should come with a sheath! They are extremely sharp and also brittle. For both those reasons, its a no-brainer that they should have a plastic sheath for each one. That's one reason I knocked a star off of an otherwise great product. The other reason is the manufacturer's warranty. It gives no customer confidence. 90 days and it doesn't include wear and tear doesn't exactly scream high quality. Please note these are initial impressions. I have only had them a couple of days and have cut exactly one vegetable with them :) It performed wonderfully on that pepper though! A year has gone by. I RARELY use these. Almost never, really. And it still comes down to that lack of a place to put them. Because they have no sheath, and you aren't supposed to store them with other knives, they carefully go in their own drawer away from all the other cuttlery... and so there they end up staying. And really, the times I did use them... its nothing special. I got really into the idea of ceramic knives but now that I see they cut maybe a HAIR better than even cheap steel knives, its just not worth the bother when you factor in how fussy they are (brittle). My suggestion: don't bother. Just my opinion. ... show more

I'd been "threatening" to buy some ceramic knives for many years....and--only now--got around to it. These seem to be REAL performers...and the price is better than ANY I've seen...here and there. I REALLY don't think you can go wrong with this set. For $20...(assuming they suit your needs) this is a STEAL. I like that slicing is about 100% easier than with a conventional knife, they NEVER get dull....and you can make SUPER thin slices in things like tomatoes... which is pretty neat. They're also JUST fun to play with. ; ) ... show more

    • Chipped on first use, NOT that sharp and DEFINITELY NOT worth the price...
YES, its a generally sharp knife, and it WILL cut through your onions and grapefruits... But I cook everyday and for many years I've been just fine with my $19.99 serrated block set of 14 knives and a scissor. Though recently I ran into this product and saw the positive reviews (and the negative) and thought it can't be that bad right? Make my kitchen life a bit easier? WRONG... Realistically this set is worth $14.95 at most, and DEFINITELY not $48... For what? The absolute ONLY reason they can get away with selling it for so much is because its currently sitting on five stars (which makes me doubt the authenticity of the majority of reviews here)... It chipped on the first use, and really for no justified reason.. Its sharp, but not as "razor sharp" as they make it out to be. I have old switch blades sharper than these. The product description, and reviews make it seem like it cuts through everything like butter, but today I was cutting and mincing onions and garlic and yes, it cut through them, but definitely not "with ease" and most definitely not any better than my 10 year old serrated knives that I use every day. Also, these knives come with no sheath, and since they're ceramic they won't stick to your magnetic knife strip, good luck finding a safe place to put them... I mean, they're three very overly priced knives with absolutely nothing special about them, especially the sharpness, and I just can't justify the price. Not even if it were half the price... I'm sorry people, but this product is a rip-off. And if you're stubborn like me and this real review is not enough, by all means I encourage you to get them and use them for a few days and tell me if you see any real difference from your current knife SET which you probably bought for a fraction of the price they're asking for these.. Seem to be a well made 3 pc. set of knives at a very competitive price! I wanted to try a set of ceramic knives, but did not want to sell the farm to buy them! Found plenty that were inexpensive, except they looked cheap! These look like the high priced spread, and I decided these would be the one to try. Very, very sharp, now the test will be how long they will stay sharp. Advertisement says "stays sharp up to 10 times longer than normal steel knives" and this is the reason I'm giving this set only four stars: Up to 10 times! Had I paid closer attention, I may have passed on the purchase and simply resharpened our Henckels. I know of no way to sharpen these knives! ... show more

    • AMAZING KNIVES!!!
WOW, I had been wanting a ceramic knife, and when I received this 3 piece set as a gift I was thrilled. Then I picked one up and felt as if the knife had been constructed to fit my hand. The balance is awesome. I have now had these gems enough to say that they are the sharpest, most efficient knives in the world. I have cooked since I was a child and know how important a great knife is for a household with a family to feed each day. I have used them for meat, vegetables, breads, and candy making. They are a tremendous find. I will be recommending these to everyone I know, and at the price will now give them as gifts to all our business associates, friends and family. Don't hesitate! The price is outrageously low for this amazing set. Be careful though, don't accidentally cut yourself. These are not like other knives you have used.
