I recently acquired another vehicle so my truck just sits in the driveway now. We have a rodent problem in our area so to keep rats out of my engine bay I have an electronic deterrent hooked up to the battery. That along with my alarm will eat up the battery in a couple of days if I don't run the vehicle. I have a battery charger but in order to use it I have to run a cable from inside my garage onto the driveway and into my hood. This got me thinking that here has to be a better way. That is when I came across this Oymsae Solar Charger. I had looked over a few but I wanted one that was at least 20 Watts and one that wouldn't break the bank. I was really worried that I would have to leave the solar panel outside the Vehicle and run cables into the hood of my truck. NOPE, this bad boy plugs straight into my cigarette lighter and the solar panel sits on my dash. After a few days of letting my truck sit I unplugged the charger, stuck my keys into the ignition and my truck fired right up without missing a beat. Now I will say if your vehicle's cigarette lighter doesn't have power when it is turned off you will have to run the alligator clips to your battery from the outside of the vehicle. But either way it still should work. This product is awesome and I can't recommend it enough!

Getting much more current into battery than old 1.5 W unit. Built in charge controller is a plus, previous unit has very bright lights and drained the battery overnight! It seems like it will need to be mounted carefully, might be able to break it. The built in charger keeps the panel from laying flush, and anything it would be mounted to could block view of the status LEDs. Have not tried the suction cups, but it would be very suited to mounting inside a vehicle window for charging when parked. Comes with useful assortment of cables to go from it's SAE to other systems.

Read another review about a guy that uses this for exactly what I wanted. He said it stood up to the abuse he put it through and I figured that is just what I want. So I bought it for my boat. It is stowed while towing my boat, but it keeps the battery charged while my boat sits, or while we play the radio. and it even fell in the lake a time or two and it is still going strong! Love this thing!

I first received this nice thin and light solar battery charger in the fall of 2022, used it on my stored motor home all winter and seemed to keep the batteries up quite nicely. When I brought the MH back home I noticed the indicator lights were not working at all on the charger, so did not know if the unit was functioning as it should or not. After a few tries of trying to contact the seller they replied and were very nice and sent me out a new unit VERY quickly and for no charge. The new one is working fine with operational indicator lights functioning as they should. Hopefully this replacement unit will continue to work for a lot longer than the first one, as Ireally like this product and want to continue to keep using it. Four stars as the first unit did not last even close to a year.
