I have tried a bunch of dish sponges over the years and this has been the best. I bought my first one in January 2015. It broke in May 2016 and I purchased a replacement. I'm still giving it 5 stars despite it breaking, because for a <$10 product I feel like almost a year and a half of almost daily usage is pretty great. The part that broke was a small tear in the button. I think I was pressing on it too hard. With the new one I am being a little more careful, and I think I understand the issue. Basically, if it's not full of soap, you need to be holding it sponge-down and be a little patient for the soap to reach the hold on the bottom. If you press the button only once the soap is already by the dispensing hole then it takes very little pressure on the button for soap to come out. Overall the wand is very strong and comfortable to use. The sponges also last a long time, I've used only three over the 17 months I've had it. No leakage of soap like I've seen with other wands. ... show more

I have to start this review by explaining that the overall quality of this dish scrubber far surpasses all of the others on the market. Immediately upon handling, I could tell that. I purchased this, because the other brand I like, doesn't have refills available anywhere in the new city we moved to. None of the supermarkets, big box retail stores, or even Amazon, carries them. It was the only one that didn't need a replacement sponge like every week. It also had a scrub brush on the top, which was great for cleaning the grout on my my tile counters. So this Oxo brand looked like the only one I hadn't tried, and it seems easy enough to order the refills from Amazon as an "add on item" to one of our regular subscribed purchases. So larger, sturdier...even the sponges are sturdy...and it cuts the cleaning time in half! I don't have to worry about the despensor button popping into the reservoir, and needing to be fished out with a knife, because it is VERY firmly attached (despite what I had read in older reviews). It is a little pricier than my original go to, but it is clearly worth the price. While the wand is about 3 dollars more, the refills are only about $1 more than my old ones, and I don't have to go on a man hunt to track them down. The Soap reservoir is twice the capacity, and it allows for the dispensing of thicker soap, which is perfect for us, becuase I always add a little dishwasher detergent (becuase bleach) to my regular dish soap. It is a dream to handle with rubber gloves on, and I can even see how it might be a valuable cleaning tool for other things in my home, like the shower. I posted a photo next to my old preferred brand so you could see the comparison in quality, and size. I would highly recommend getting one of these, if you are trying to decide between brands.     • Solid but not perfect
I have searched for a "perfect" soap dispensing dish scrubber and haven't found it yet. This one is pretty good though. Note, that this is not your usual "passive" dispenser wand where the soap gradually drips out as you use it. Instead, this wand actually soap when you hit the button. It actually stream out the wand a few inches like a little squirt gun. High quality feeling construction overall. My only complaints are: - The squirter nozzle does leak slightly if you do not store it with the sponge upward, like in a cup or propped against the side of your sink. - It only takes OXO replacement heads, which are more expensive than generic replacements. Also, the sponge heads are slightly larger than the typical generic sponge wand. If you want a wand that fits into tight spaces, this is not it. Overall, I would recommend this product -- despite its flaws -- it has served me well for a few months already. ... show more

I really love this soap dispensing scrubber, and I've gone through a LOT of this type of scrubber in my day. I use mine heavily every day and I think my last OXO lasted more than a year and a half. I don't expect them to last forever, the little button that dispenses soap finally failed - the rubber separated so you couldn't get any suction when you pressed the button, but I happily ordered a new one and expect to get another year at least out of it. (Of course, you do need to change out the scrubber heads from time to time). Highly recommended. May I also suggest a fantastic storage caddy that I bought to store this scrubber in? I am really happy with this one: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002WGHKWQ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It has an extra tall section that fits the long handle of the scrubber, and I also put my stainless steel scrubber in the short side.     • Great until 4 months in, then it leaked
Mine lasted 4 months. I did like this scrubber and it did not leak soap until 4 months of use, which is about how long the scrubber lasted until I was ready to replace with a new pad. Mine seems to be leaking from the clear plastic tip, just above the rubber seal. I have tried other similiar soap dispensers and this one held up the longest. I was impressed when I first got it and filled it and saw it didn’t leak. According to the package, Oxo guarentees a replacement, so i recently contacted them. I hope they stand by their guarentee. Update: They did stand by their guarentee. If you have one that leaks, contact them and edit your review based on the outcome of contacting them.
