  • Fantastic!
Style: Pepper Grinder Color: Gray
Nice functional product. This is the easiest pepper grinder to fill. It opens up and gives you a good size opening. It is also very easy to use. Love it, best pepper grinder I’ve owned. Only thing that would improve it for me is a slightly smaller grind. I have this for awhile and it is holding up very well. ... show more

  • Great grinder
Style: Pepper Grinder Color: Gray
I bought this grinder for a few reasons: 1) cost effective, 2) size, it fits on the open shelf where I keep my spices and salt cellar, 3) adjustable grind size, 4) ceramic blade that grinds consistently and doesn’t rust (I live in a humid area), and 5) the positioning of the grind function and the grinder’s resting position. Specifically for reason # 5, the grind function of the blade is on top, so the grinder doesn’t rest with the grind blade down on the surface you set it down on—less mess; and the other component of the grind function, the part you turn, is the base of the grinder, which is easy to use when the unit is tipped upside down during grinding; it also is not the same component as the blade, like some cheap plastic grinders you can buy in the spice aisle at the grocery store, which combine the turn feature and the blade both in the plastic lid. This grinder is easy to use, cost effective, efficient, tidy. Super pleased with this purchase. It came stocked with peppercorns already which I didn’t know, but was a nice touch. ... show more

  • Works great!
Style: Pepper Grinder Color: Gray
Works great and does what it’s supposed to do. Easy to turn/grind, and looks/feels sturdy. I like that the grinder is on the top, not bottom, so no more flakes of pepper all over the counter or table. It also comes filled with peppercorns which is a plus. I have yet to refill it so I can’t comment about that, but overall it’s a nice grinder that I hope lasts a long time. ... show more

  • Easy to use but no "fine" setting. medium to large chunks of pepper only.
Style: Pepper Grinder Color: Gray
TLDR: It's easy to grind. It does a good job but will not give you fine pepper. If you only use medium to coarse pepper then this is for you. If you like fine pepper on your eggs for example, this will frustrate you. Pros: It is easy to turn and grind peper. It's fairly durable. (I've dropped it a couple times and it hasn't broken XD ) Looks okay. Cons: The "finest" setting is still pretty course. If you're used to or prefer finer pepper like you get at the store for some goods, you will not be able to get that from this product. Summary: I like it. It is easy to use and for people with wrist or grip strength issues it may be a nice thing to have. it's not skinny, so if you have issues turning things and have small hands, this may be a bit awkward. That said, it does not grind finely. I don't use it on my eggs for example because I don't like to feel chunks of pepper in my eggs when I eat them. I use it quite often on my steaks though! You can see in the picture that the largest peices from the grinder are several times larger than the largest peices from the can at the store. Not a huge deal, but very off putting to me again in some foods, so I just use both products. ... show more

Love this pepper grinder, it is medium size and easy to grind and hold onto. It has different settings for grinding and works great! Glad I got it…

  • Well made
Style: Pepper Grinder Color: Gray
I accidentally bought this and almost returned due to the price. Glad I kept it as it's better made than others. The "rubber" grip makes it easy to use, especially if you have troubled hands. The bonus is adjusting the ground size without guessing. Would highly recommend

  • Great grinder!
Style: Pepper Grinder Color: Gray
I'm a cook at a country club, and needed a new grinder for pepper. Durable, grinds very well with multiple different sizes. It's lightweight and gets the job done.

  • Not thrilled. Not mess-free.
Style: Pepper Grinder Color: Gray
I will use this pepper grinder because I bought it and it works, but considering it is Oxo I had hoped to love it. I wish Oxo would bring back “OXO Good Grips 32180 Pepper Mill”. It lasted 8 years and I loved it - it was perfect. Then I had its replacement, the nearly identical “OXO Good Grips 32180 Pepper Mill”, but the bottom "cap" wouldn't stay on, and it lasted only 4.5 years before the grinder ground to a halt. Those two previous Oxo models were designed with a bottom "cap", to keep pepper from falling out between uses (the original mess-free?). I liked the cap because it allowed me to grind into the cap while cooking and at the table. I could see how much pepper I was adding, and see the coarseness of the grind, then I could sprinkle it evenly over the food. And while cooking I wasn't steaming the grinder. With the “NEW OXO Good Grips Contoured Mess-Free Pepper Grinder”, the grinder mechanism itself gets steamed while grinding over the pot/pan, and pepper sticks to the steam on the grinder, making an unappealing mess on top of the grinder. [And some steam probably gets into the peppercorn reservoir.] I know- I know, all pepper grindersl get steamed when used over a hot pot, but people don't see that mess when the grinder is on the bottom; this has the grinder on the top and you do see it. The “NEW OXO Good Grips Contoured Mess-Free Pepper Grinder” is refilled through the bottom, and it isn't as easy as it should be, considering what I presume is Oxo's dedication to easy-to-GRIP designs. I have long fingers and it can be a bit difficult to grip and twist the shallow twist-out peppercorn reservoir "lid". When replacing the lid, it doesn't seat-well at all. Then trying to get it right can take several tries to pick it up because it gets stuck in the threads. It needs to sit just right on those threads so it can be twisted shut. Really, that is a pain. Did they test this before its debut? I like a somewhat coarse grind at the table, and so far I have used this mostly in the kitchen. Time will tell if I'm going to be happy with the grind-adjustment - the choices are between just several settings on a sliding adjustment, instead of a continuous screw-setting that all my previous pepper grinders have had. I have been a fan of Oxo designs for many years, but I am not in love with this pepper grinder. I'd really like to be able to get my old favorite OXO Good Grips 32180 Pepper Mill again; its replacement looks identical but it had about half the life-span (and the bottom lid always fell off). Also to Oxo: anyone who likes pepper well enough to buy a grinder, perhaps also buys good peppercorns. I buy premium black tellicherry peppercorns from a spice seller. They have wonderful flavor, not just heat common to cheap pepper. A grinder pre-filled with generic peppercorns of unknown origin and handling standards (in your non-food producing facility), then sits who-knows-how-long and under what conditions before being sold. This is not enticing, I just want a good pepper grinder. Selling an empty grinder is cost-cutting that could have been applied to developing a better fitting lid. ... show more
