Simply place your ingredients inside the cup and press down on the non-slip knob to chop. A tab rotates inside the container to keep food from sticking to the sidewalls, while the built-in bumper absorbs shock and reduces noise. Scoop out chopped ingredients with the included spoon, or snap the lid on to save for later. The wave-pattern blade cartridge easily unscrews for quick cleanup, and the knob locks in closed position for simple storage. BPA-free. Removable blade is dishwasher safe.

  • Great for chopping nuts
Style: large Pattern Name: Chopper
It is quick and easy for chopping a handful of almonds, pecans, walnuts, brazils, hazelnuts. I would still be using my old (10 year) chopper but one thing. Removing the bottom piece, to cut on a cutting board quickly wears out the bottom lid, thereby dumping the the chopped stuff unexpectedly on the floor. Use the chopping container or the cutting board mode, not both. It is impossible and dangerous to clean inside the spring housing. The other parts like the scraper and top lid are almost useless and quickly lost. And what's with the lock down catch, it's hard to use and exposes the sharp blades when closed. But I expect my new OXO Good Grips Chopper to last the next 10 years or more. ... show more

  • Durability is questionable "Large"
Style: large Pattern Name: Chopper
2nd use and I already see fractures on the clear plastic. Processing half an regular size onion is dificult without pre slicing. The mechanism keeps getting stuck and will not twist nor chop. With smaller onions works as advertised.

  • What a great find!
Style: large Pattern Name: Chopper
I have used the older style 'jar' choppers like my mom had and was never impressed. My daughter had this OXO style chopper and raved about it. I purchased one with lowish expectations...WOW. I was schooled! This thing is great! Chop coarse or fine...works perfectly! I will note it took a minute to get all the parts apart and the 'lid' on the bottom was tight until I had taken it off a few times. I highly recommend this chopper! ... show more

  • Disappointed-Not Like my First One
Style: large Pattern Name: Chopper
I have had the OXO chopper for 8 years and the spring finally gave out. Because I loved my chopper I ordered another one. It seems they have made a change, and not a good one. If you look at the bottom of the chopper, you will see that the transparent cup fits into a black rubber seal that also serves as the base of the chopper. I cannot remove the seal, which requires that one has to chop into the cup. I prefer to put little piles of food on a cutting board and go from one to the other to chop my food. I called OXO and was told that this seal should not be there, and to try again with Amazon. The same thing happened. Fortunately, for me, I have the plastic part from my previous chopper, so I can circumvent the issue. However, I really wish OXO would change the chopper back to the way it was made before. ... show more

  • Good days and bad days !
Style: large Pattern Name: Chopper
Let me start by saying, the vegetable chopper looks like a dream come true for any home cook. However, my experience has been less than satisfactory. While it chops most vegetables with ease, it's a different story when it comes to thick and girthy carrots. Every time I try to chop my carrots, they get stuck in the blades like a bad hair day. I've tried everything from sharpening the blades to shouting at the chopper, to even “pre-chopping” my carrots, but nothing seems to work. It's enough to make a grown adult cry over chopped carrots. On the bright side, when the chopper does work, it's a thing of beauty. It's so satisfying to watch the vegetables fall neatly into the container. And the cleaning process is a breeze, which is a huge plus in my book. Overall, I'm torn about this vegetable chopper. It's frustrating when it doesn't work as intended, but it's also a lifesaver when it does. So if you're willing to take the risk with the carrots, go ahead and give it a try. Just be prepared to shed a few tears. ... show more

  • found broken plastic from chopper in food -- exercise caution
Style: large Pattern Name: Chopper
I do like this chopper better than others I've tried and have bought three. BUT. . .I chop my dog's food in this and today I found a small broken piece of plastic from the chopper in my dog's food. The piece had broken off after using it for a little over a year, 3 or 4 times daily. So it is a good chopper, but with daily, prolonged use, be very careful. That piece of sharp plastic would have killed my dog had he eaten it. ... show more

  • Actually lots better than the Pampered Chef model, which isn't made any more anyway
Style: large Pattern Name: Chopper
So far, so good. I've used it every day since I received it a week ago. It replaces a 12-year-old Zyliss-manufactured Pampered Chef chopper, because the plastic on that just started crumbling a couple of months ago. Pros: 1) It's easy to clean if you rinse it immediately after use. I don't put anything sharp in the dishwasher because it dulls the edge, so I handwash this as well. 2) It stays together better than the Zyliss (especially recently!). 3) It's more ergonomic, so my hand doesn't get quite so tired. 4) It chops more evenly inside the cup than the Pampered Chef IF you shake it kinda vigorously about 2/3 of the way through the process. The built-in scraper blades keeps herbs, etc., from clinging to the sides as you chop. There's a tiny spatula included which get the little bits off easily. I recommend keeping that elsewhere, though, because it doesn't lock onto the chopper and I know I'd lose it. 5) It's still noisy, but I think not quite as noisy as the Pampered Chef one - mostly because I find it easier to chop *inside* it because of the built-in scraper blades. 6) I like that the base has a separate cap for storage, though I haven't used it. 7) I like the measurements on the chopping chamber, though it's really only useful for when it's used for storage - can't chop with it when it's full up! Cons: 1) The gasket which holds the chopping surface on can be a little tight to remove and put back on. 2) The little spatula doesn't lock on. (But at least it exists, and won't scratch the plastic.) ... show more
