This worked perfectly in my 2019 27" 5k iMac with a Fusion drive running Sequoia 15.7.3. I was pleasantly surprised to found that EVERYTHING I needed came in the box including the 4 special screwdrivers, suction cups, adhesive strips to close up the iMac when done, and a cloth to clean the screen. A link to the the instructional video from OWC was included on an instruction sheet in the box. That video was about as perfect an instructional video as I have ever seen. It took me a couple hours to go through the process as I was very careful. I was on my own following the physical installation of this blade SSD but disk manager recognized the drive immediately and I reinstalled a fresh OS successfully. I did not unlink the fusion drive using terminal commands but I had no problems. My iMac had been in horrible shape with the rainbow beachball appearing frequently. It was impossible to run Final Cut Pro. Now the machine is lightning fast. I put a 2 TB SATA drive inside the iMac to give me a total of 4 TB in a lightning fast iMac. ... show more

I bought this because I was given a 2019 iMac and the stock internal NVMe drive was too small to be of any use as an OS drive in a Fusion setup. Sequoia wouldn’t even install due to size limitations, so I bought this kit with the 500GB drive. WOW! The installation was a breeze, even for a first time Mac user and installer. The video installation instructions were crystal clear. It took me about 2 hours total, because I was nervous, having never cracked open an iMac like this. Everything lined up perfectly, and even though I did test it before sealing it back up, I actually didn’t need to. It worked straight away! The only part of the kit that confused me was the part about trimming the adhesive, so as not to block the iMac’s (19,1) internal microphone. I swear the written instructions are misprinted because, even though it said for me to trim the adhesive, I didn’t need to because my iMac’s microphone was not where the instructions said it would be. Either way, it was nothing a little common sense and research wasn’t able to solve. I did the deed, sealed it up, and off she went! I launched Internet Recovery, installed Sequoia, and haven’t looked back since. The drive absolutely screams when compared to the stock drive. Startup is faster, and launching apps is faster as well. I chose the 500GB size due to price, and I’m glad I did. The OWB Aura SSD plus installation kit is a lifesaver, and it absolutely resurrected this old 2019 iMac (19,1). I put this and 64GB OWC RAM in my 2019 27inch iMac. It absolutely SCREAMS now. I do design and animation for reference. Was thinking I needed a new computer but now I’m running way faster than I ever have. However be warned. It is a JOURNEY putting this thing in. But It’s nothing crazy just a lot of steps and obviously you have to be very careful and watch the video while you do it. Their customer service particularly the chat on the OWC site is top notch. Always got prompt replies, and when I ran into a problem (was my fault I forgot to plug in one of the cables before I sealed it back up) they emailed me the next day (it was 1am when I signed off) to see if they could further assist, but I had figured it out by then. I ordered another unknown brand m.2 that claimed it was made specifically for Mac’s including my 2013 27in iMac. Well it did not work, when it actually booted it was very slow. So I returned it and got this one. Haven’t had a single problem with it. Using blackmagic at 5Gb stress load it clocks about 800 Mb/s read/write speeds. I consider that fast for an almost 12 year old computer. My iMac is an i7 24 Gb Ram and the SSD I use is the 500Gb and it has about 179Gb of storage used. ... show more
