Got this as a gift for my brother in law! Owala is just a great brand overall. Ordering from Amazon made shipping easier too. It has a functional and appealing design. From my own experience they're incredibly high quality and easy to use. The handle make it easy to grip on to the water bottle for hikes and walking around. The size is perfect it carries enough water where I'm not annoyed having to refill constantly and also not annoyed having to carry something SUPER heavy. I love that the lock feature ensures it never spills! I've had so many problems with other water bottles spilling. It's a great brand and worth the price. I just love this water bottle, I use it for school mainly but it it easy to take everywhere because it is spill proof and has the lock on the lid. I also love that the straw is detachable and it easy to clean (both mouthpiece and straw) with a straw cleaner or skinny bristle brush. There are so many fun colors too, I have a 40 oz white one that I filled with stickers and now a 24 oz. Beware though that the 40 oz doesn't fit in most cup holders, that is really my only issue with it, but it is so big and keeps the water cold for ever. At the beach in 95 degree weather it stayed cold with ice for 8+ hours. ... show more

I love this water bottle! I have a hydroflask and Stanley, but this is the best especially with the sip & chug feature. My only complaint, is that it seems to have come used. When opened, it had water particles in it and the straw was almost full of mold. I recommend adding a boot for the 40 oz because when it's full, it can be heavy and make the "dong" sound when placed on a hard surface. ... show more

After years of owning Yeti bottles, I switched to this bottle mostly because my daughter told me about it. What I found is that it’s the best designed of all the ones out there. We briefly tried the Stanley bottles with built in handles and straws. While those are good, I found carrying those around to be awkward, especially if I want to store them in a backpack. Enter Owala. I own three sizes for different reasons. The 40oz is the one I use daily at home. It either sits next to the bed overnight or I use it for my work day. The bottle keeps water cold for up to 48 hours. I also carry a 32oz for daily excursions. The 40oz is just too big for cup holders. The 32oz also keeps cold for up to two days. Finally, I have a 24oz that I use for travel. I love the spout. The bottle allows me to drink however I feel necessary. Normally I use the built in straw, but there are times I’ve just wanted to chug water and their spout allows me to do both. The cap seals extremely well. We’ve had Yeti bottles leak, Owala seems to have solved this issue quite well. Now for the bad things…. If you fill the bottle with ice water, I suggest adding the ice last. Putting ice in first causes it to stay in the lower section of the bottle, making it hard to get the straw into it. I usually fill my bottle with water, add ice and then push the straw through. Second, I had the flip top mechanism stick a bit on one bottle, which I promptly returned and replaced. Only happened on one out of the five we own in the house. Best water bottle I have had. I really like the straw being inside the thermos. I can't poke my eye out with this one. It takes no effort to take a sip. If I want to chug, i can just tilt it and bypass the straw function. Ice keeps very well in this thermos. Just as good as other popular brands like Stanley. If you want a long straw then this isn't for you, but I hate the long straws so it works great for me. The open and close top is pretty much perfect. It pops open with ease with the push of a button. Easy to close to. It locks closed tightly and the carry handle also secures it when down. Does not leak at all when closed. Speaking of the carry handle, it is convenient, but I wish it were a little more ergonomic when carrying with my fingers. It isn't horrible but it could be better. Overall, this is the best bottle that I have found. I have the large 40 ounce and the only problem that I have with it is it does not fit in a cup holder in my vehicles. I wish it did, honestly. That's the only reason it is 4 stars instead of 5. ... show more
