These are semi-sheer curtains. I got the dark grey one and light will still penetrate though due to the larger weaves on the material. You can also see enough through the curtains too (a blurry version of the people moving and such). I personally don't like the sheerness. I prefer solid curtains that may let light through (but you cannot see anyone on the other side), which is why these are only ok for me (better than no curtains). I won't dock off points though, because I did think they might be sheer based on some of the images provided (so their images are fairly accurate). The cleaning instruction is simple (see the images I have attached). I can machine wash cold and tumble dry low - which is great. After washing through, I did notice some threads sticking out in a few area, but it didn't look like things were unwind or falling apart. So a quick few snip and all good. There is a very narrow opening at the edge, but there is a bigger opening right below it for the curtain rods. The reason for this is so that the curtain will have a bit of material at the top to give it more of a style (I think it looks good). For testing purpose, I was able to get the rod through the narrow opening. If you need the full length of the curtain and don't mind losing out on the aesthetic of the top material looking the way it should as the image show on the product page, this can be an option. Overall, good deal on curtains if it is what you are looking for (with all curtains and drapes, make sure you know what measure you want!). ... show more

I already loved the color of the blue curtains, but they're even prettier in person. Definitely not sheers, but also definitely not a heavy drape - 'light filtering' is exactly right! They almost have a chambray look to them, in certain light - but the color is solid, it's the weave that allows the light to filter through and gives it that kind of textured look. It's really so pretty! They're a great weight, and remain undisturbed by the vent under the window they're hanging in, when it kicks on. I love that we get the 'finished' look and privacy of curtains, but don't lose all of the lovely natural light in our house! Decently made curtains. They were a bit thin, but looks nice and the color is exactly as pictured. They are a great value for the price point and I would recommend for that reason. If your looking for thick and high quality, this is not it and you will pay more for it.

I ordered sage…. Tag states sage green…. Supposed to be sheer…. None of that is accurate. Photoed in natural light a brown, gray, green light filtering (closer to darkening -not quite black out- than sheer) curtains arrived.
