These take color easily from pens, pencils, markers, paints and with a little glitter and decoupage, they become a lovely ornament. My grandkids from 3 up to 21 love coloring them, along with all the parents. Highly recommend this!

First impressions: the delicate, lid-less box got broken in shipment, a white air bubble bag. One pic shows the corner that is completely broken. It doesn't show the dislodged and broken dividers and the disarray the snowflakes were in when I got them (I'm driven to put things in order and did so before I thought to take a pic). The flakes slid under and over the dividers and were sliding around under the plastic wrap and loose in the packaging, too. 8 were broken - shown in a pic. Further thoughts: the flakes are thin but not too thin. The designs are pretty and nicely varied. The flakes vary in color a fair bit - see pic of flakes in rows with two at the bottom (those two show the back sides - evenly pale on all flakes). The color varies because of the laser cutting process - I wish they didn't, but it's normal. One pattern had a bunch of little pieces still stuck in the flakes (easily removed with a little screwdriver) and a few of that pattern have a printing flaw (screwdriver in pic is pointing at the flaw). The surfaces of the flakes are smooth. Unanswered questions: I don't know how the flakes will take color. I wonder if the singed wood will bleed brown through white paint, for example. I will update when I know something more. Update: I have used acrylic paint markers (a wide marker also purchased on Amazon) to color these snowflakes. I would recommend this as the easiest way to make an overall color. No bleeding of brown wood has happened as yet. I have also tried Wite-out and though the white is good, it's more challenging to apply and the coat is uneven. Definitely markers are the way to go over brushes, for overall and detailed coloration. It also occurred to me these might make nice earrings. I took some of the broken flakes and trimmed them smaller for more dainty earrings. I will try to drill a tiny hole for a jump ring as I think that will look nicer than using a pre-existing space for a jump ring. I'm definitely looking forward to sharing these as an easy and attractive winter project for my 7th graders.

I liked that these could be used as a fun community project and there was a great variety. Easy for kids to decorate with markers. Unfortunately some were a little delicate and some of the edges broke off but we used it as part of the lesson to be careful and mindful with delicate objects and also the lesson that not all snowflakes are the same or perfect.

They are beautifully cut and designed. They look great on the tree and packages. Next year I want to make snowflake garlands to give as gifts. Would work great for art projects with children and adults. . I love these little snowflakes. Great deal.
