I just moved into a new home that had a central vac and bought this kit to use the old system. Although I was worried about the hose would fit into my existing inlets, it fit right in on the first shot and worked perfectly. I needed a kit that could do both my wood floor on the main and the carpeted rooms at the basement and second floor. This kit has the floor brush as well with a carpet beater that really works much better than my old upright vacuum cleaner. I love also the fact that the carpet beater has many adjustable heights to make sure I vacuum thoroughly the carpets at home! Finally, the switch on the handle is very convenient because it has three positions, making me able to shut down the electrical beater while keeping the suction on to pass by the ceramic in the upper bathrooms. I really like this central vacuum. I spent WAY too much money fixing the power head on my old one. I could've bought a bunch of new units for what I've spent. ***My only regret is purchasing the 50' hose. It's WAY too bulky and it's not convenient. I should've got the regular length. Amazon delivered this kit for free in two days and Suzanne from Nadair/OVO Customer Service responded to my pre-ordering technical questions within one day...on a Saturday...great service! When we opened the box it looked nice, but felt much lighter than our old Kenmore kit which had us concerned that it was somewhat cheaply constructed (please read on). After setting it up and using it however, our opinion changed. It was much easier carrying the new hose and vac up and down the stairs. It worked very well; as well as the old kit, but much less effort to haul around. We also liked the built in swivel handle for angling around objects and had 5 feet in additional length to cover more area than before. We did notice the hose kinked a couple of times while vacuuming though, so we'll have to be careful when using. Time will tell with regard to the overall durability, but for now we received a very nice product and great customer service. DG ... show more

I just got the package and had a problem that required calling Customer Service. Gabriel helped me out and we determined the problem was on my end and not with the power switch on the hose. He was quite knowledgeable and patient. Didn't wait more than 2 minutes on hold either which is pretty great these days. Does a much better job cleaning the carpet. More adjustments to carpet height. Wish they had the universal adapter included in the kit vs having to call manufacturer to get it, but they were quick to send it out. Luckily electrical plugs close enough to use. I had a nutone system and replaced it with this one. The hard floor brush works much better on this one. The old one only worked pulling back and this one works pushing forward so it gets the edges much better. The power unit does a much better job on carpet. I so wish I bought this electric power head 20 years ago! I absolutely love it! My carpets have not been vacuumed so well ever! The head itself seems pretty durable. The wand feels like it could break if it is used rough - I have 2 older sons who are rough on things so I'm not sure it will stand up to their use. I used this vacuum 6 times when it started smoking. I thought it was the rollers because of my wife's long hair. Nope! I opened up the unit and dirt and debris were collecting inside the carpet brush head itself and it shorted out the motherboard. It was past the return date so I am S.O.L.
