  • A New England staple
Color: Dark Blue
It seems like everyone by the ocean here has an Adirondack chair. I was so excited when I saw this item go up on Vine. I had my brother put it together for me because I have zero skill when it comes to assembly. He said it was easy and the instructions were clear. The chair looks great, just as pictured! I love the color, it's so classic for Adirondack chairs. The quality is very good and will be able to take our crazy New England weather. It's just as comfortable as any Adirondack chair you will get. A great chair at a very good price. You'd never know this chair didn't cost you hundreds of dollars. ... show more

  • Really Happy With It
Color: Light Brown
Really happy with this chair. Right out of the box, I noticed that the wood is fairly soft. I don't plan to put it outside in the elements, but I'll probably put it outside on our covered porch. I MIGHT put a clear coating on it to help protect, but we'll see how it goes. The instructions are very simple and clear. The screws and bolts are in marked baggies. Any of the pieces that have right or left pieces have R or L on them. Because the pieces are pretty easy to identify, you just match up the shape to what's on the instructions. I didn't have any issues figuring out which was which. I had two pieces that with holes that were a little tough to line up with the bolt. for the first one, I had to back the bolt out and realign the piece...it wasn't that bad. The last piece to attach was the hole that I couldn't get to line up. I was about to get the drill and bit out, but my husband was able to line it up and get the bolt to connect with the other side. Had I not had his "super manly strength", the drill would have worked fine...the hole just needed a little extra room. Most of the places with wood screws had pre-drilled holes. I thought it was a little odd that the last call for wood screws didn't have pre-drilled holes, but they went into the wood pieces just fine. I used a plan screwdriver for most of the assembly; I did get a larger headed screwdriver for the big bolts toward the end of the project. Once you really start tightening down the screws and bolts, I didn't want to risk stripping out the screws. I'll admit, I was surprised at how easy the assembly was. It's pretty comfortable. I don't typically like hard surfaced chairs, but the contoured back makes a huge difference. I'm 5'6" (not tall, but not short), and the deep seat is NICE. I hate having my knees far out from the seat of the chair. At the same time, I hate having the edge of the chair cut into the backs of my knees. I feel like Goldilocks...this chair is just right. I also really appreciate the rounded edge of the seat so that even if it were a little long for me, the edges wouldn't be cutting into my legs. So yeah, I'm really pleased with this chair. Assembly wasn't too bad, the wood looks like it'll hold up fairly well for my needs, and it's pretty comfortable. I subtracted a star just for the issues with the holes giving me some trouble. Overall, I really like it and am pretty pleased. ... show more

  • Served our purpose
Color: Light Brown
This chair arrived while i was in the middle of a project so my wife took a shot at putting it together. She is pretty handy and generally doesn't have any issues assembling furniture like this, but the directions were not entirely clear, and when she started having trouble getting pieces to line up we had to take it apart and start again. Even with leaving all of the screws and bolts loose until the very end there was a lot of massaging that had to happen for these to go together. As far as adirondack chairs go, they are very light - not sure exactly what kind of wood they are, but I would think these will last a few seasons and need to be replaced. Served our purpose for this summer. ... show more

  • Nice quality
Color: Light Brown
It's always hard to find good solid and still somewhat comfortable outdoor furniture. Especially around here it's hard to find things that will stand up to the weather because it changes so often and is extreme. The construction of this chair is extremely solid and holds up well to use as well as the weather as I mentioned. So far I have not had any problems with anything, and it definitely got used all the way up until it got a little too cold to be outside. So if you are looking for something that's a little heavy duty and still comfortable this is not a bad choice. ... show more

  • Good-looking, but light duty
Color: Dark Blue
It's easy to assemble and it looks great. It's also lightweight and easy to move around. The wood is real wood, but it's incredibly dry, lightweight wood. It will crack and break if you are not careful. My chair had a small, broken piece but it wasn't a deal-breaker. It did, however, demonstrate how fragile the wood is. I'm 6'1", 180lbs and the chair feels very comfortable and it does support my weight. However, it probably wouldn't support much more than that. I have to be careful when I sit down or get up, because putting too much pressure anywhere on the chair could break it. For example, if I were sitting in the chair and used the armrests to help push myself up, they could snap off or pull out the screws. If I lean back too quickly, the back could crack. But, if I sit down gently and use my legs to stand up, I can avoid breaking it. I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see it lasting more than a few months. A friend asked if it were worth getting a few for her rental cabin. Unless she wants to replace them after every guest, I'd spend the extra money and get a sturdy chair that can stand up to use. For comparison, a properly-built Adirondack chair would be made of much sturdier wood and would be bolted together instead of screwed together. It would also weigh a lot and cost a lot more. ;) ... show more
