Description

The Celebrity Elite Plus series builds on the classic multi-sound hole instrument design of the Celebrity Elite guitars, upgrading them with select figured tops, beautiful abalone appointments and first-rate sound, style and features. The Celebrity Elite Plus CE48P-TGE guitar has the classic Super Shallow Lyrachord cutaway body with a Quilted Maple Top. This top features the Elite multi-soundhole design, which provides clear highs, focused, and balanced bass response. For the top’s quartersawn scalloped “X” bracing, we reviewed earlier Ovation bracing patterns extensively and arrived at a remarkable new design that borrows from the past and is voiced for the present. With natural tone and optimal response and power, the body, top and sound holes create the classic Ovation Elite sound, resonating with full projection, remarkable note clarity and balance, and nuanced tonal complexity. The top is complete with white binding and a beautiful transparent Tiger Eye finish. Other premium features include an effortlessly playable satin-finish neck, 10”-radius rosewood fret board with 20 fully accessible frets (24 frets for high E string), Pearloid inlays, and a rosewood bridge. The CE48P-TGE features an Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system with three-band EQ, volume/gain control, onboard tuner and low-battery light. From the Manufacturer Now that's Exotic. Beauty. Art. Design. All of the playability and pristine live sound of the Celebrity Collection Elite is visually enhanced with a stunning layer of exotic wood for the Celebrity Collection Elite Exotic line. Performance-ready guitars with Ovation's unqiue multi-soundhole design give you clear highs and a focused, balanced bass response. The exotic top has detailed laser-cut epaulets that add to the uncommon appearance and sonically provide remarkable note clarity. A satin-finished neck, Ovangkol fretboard and bridge all combine to make playing effortless and responsive. All Celebrity Elites were designed with live performance in mind; the Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system with a three-band EQ, volume/gain control, onboard tuner and low-battery light make it easy to dial in your sound. Discover the classic Ovation Elite sound: articulation and balance, projection, and nuanced tonal complexity.

  • Looks beautiful and plays great!
Color: Koa Burst
I have always liked the distinctive sound of the Ovation Guitar. I finally bought one and am very pleased with the way it sounds and especially the way it plays. Even played without an amp. , it projects very well. With an amp., it's really has a beautiful sound. The action is great. The plastic back is shallow and makes it easier to play sitting down. The wood on the top is beautifully finished and the overlays really add to the look. My only regret is that I waited so long to buy it. ... show more

The best guitar I've ever purchased. It came ready to play right out of the box and sounds just as beautiful as it looks.

  • Product description was wrong... And I'm HAPPY!
Color: Tiger Eye Brown Quilt
The description does not match the product I received... An I'm EXCITED ABOUT IT! Electing to play an Ovation is like buying a car. It's not just about performance, you've also got so many varieties to pick from that style is also key. When I saw this Tiger's Eye topped beauty, I didn't hesitate. I was in love. I just hoped it looked as good in person as it did online. It arrived today, and it's beautiful. You wouldn't know, unless you read the Ovation specs, that this wasn't a solid Tiger's Eye maple top (it's spruce) but rather it's a quilted maple laminate. If I didn't know this before it came, I wouldn't notice at all. As the light cascades over the quilted maple, it brings out so many highs and lows of the Tiger's Eye brown that it's a little mesmerizing. Oh yeah... The product description was wrong (at least for the one I received), but why am I excited about it? Because the description says the binding that holds the top to the shell is white. Not mine. Mine is a gorgeous mother of pearl voodoo thing and it sparkles and is a wonderful unexpected touch. It gives the appearance that I spent $200 dollars extra for my model. I love it. Oh yeah, and because it's an Ovation, it sounds great too. Speaking of sound... For the last 16 years I've been playing a Garrison acoustic. Don't know Garrison guitars? Look them up. Their founder developed a glass fiber active bracing system that created a skeleton within the guitar where all the bracing was molded as one continuous piece so it would cause the entire body of the guitar to vibrate and have a big, warm, resonant sound. I'm not advertising them though because it's useless. They haven't existed in over a decade. Gibson bought them out, trashed out all the inventory, and then shelved the active bracing technology. Why? No clue. Why talk about Garrison guitars? Because sound. That's why I chose this Ovation. The sound of an Ovation guitar is both bright and full. I wouldn't call it warm like my Garrison. But the sound quality is incredible. I certainly wasn't going to go to some basic guitar when I've been playing a Garrison all these years. People at gigs often ask me what the heck a Garrison is. They think it's a Gibson knock off. I just tell them that it's essentially, to me, the Stradivarius of modern guitars; a nearly extinct dinosaur. Ovation rules! ... show more

  • Very Fine Instrument!
Color: Koa Burst
I have been playing guitar for 40+ years and this is my first Ovation... and what a wonderful instrument it is! The action is tight, the sound is bright and forward. This is truly a beautiful guitar! The Koa burst soundboard has depth and layers of wood grain, and the epaulettes add interest and produce rich and resonant tone from the instrument. It is amazing to get such a high quality guitar at this price point. I am very happy with this purchase! The photo shows my new Ovation Celebrity standing between my 1985 Martin D28 Dreadnaught and my 1976 Guthrie 5-string banjo. Welcome to the family! ... show more

  • Acceptable acoustic sound.
Color: Koa Burst
Easy to play, good workmanship, sound is acceptable for the price point. Could have a better electronic control that is easier to control and know what mode it is in. Electronic interface quality is minimal.

  • Can't believe how great this is.
Color: Koa Burst
I played an ovation or applause ukulele back in the early 2000s and always thought I might like playing a guitar version. I'm not sure why I waited so long, because this guitar is fantastic and sounds great. It is not as loud as some guitars because it has a shallower back, but the tone is excellent to my ears. Sounds great strummed. cappoed and picked. I have been searching for my lifetime guitars (to retire with), and this one is now number two behind my Jazzmaster Acousticsonic player. My Fender Tele is on this list to. ... show more
