Description

The Celebrity Elite Plus series builds on the classic multi-sound hole instrument design of the Celebrity Elite guitars, upgrading them with select figured tops, beautiful abalone appointments and first-rate sound, style and features. The Celebrity Elite Plus CE48P-TGE guitar has the classic Super Shallow Lyrachord cutaway body with a Quilted Maple Top. This top features the Elite multi-soundhole design, which provides clear highs, focused, and balanced bass response. For the top’s quartersawn scalloped “X” bracing, we reviewed earlier Ovation bracing patterns extensively and arrived at a remarkable new design that borrows from the past and is voiced for the present. With natural tone and optimal response and power, the body, top and sound holes create the classic Ovation Elite sound, resonating with full projection, remarkable note clarity and balance, and nuanced tonal complexity. The top is complete with white binding and a beautiful transparent Tiger Eye finish. Other premium features include an effortlessly playable satin-finish neck, 10”-radius rosewood fret board with 20 fully accessible frets (24 frets for high E string), Pearloid inlays, and a rosewood bridge. The CE48P-TGE features an Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system with three-band EQ, volume/gain control, onboard tuner and low-battery light. From the Manufacturer Now that's Exotic. Beauty. Art. Design. All of the playability and pristine live sound of the Celebrity Collection Elite is visually enhanced with a stunning layer of exotic wood for the Celebrity Collection Elite Exotic line. Performance-ready guitars with Ovation's unqiue multi-soundhole design give you clear highs and a focused, balanced bass response. The exotic top has detailed laser-cut epaulets that add to the uncommon appearance and sonically provide remarkable note clarity. A satin-finished neck, Ovangkol fretboard and bridge all combine to make playing effortless and responsive. All Celebrity Elites were designed with live performance in mind; the Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system with a three-band EQ, volume/gain control, onboard tuner and low-battery light make it easy to dial in your sound. Discover the classic Ovation Elite sound: articulation and balance, projection, and nuanced tonal complexity.

    • Great and good therapy for arthritis
Color: Tiger Eye Brown Size: Super Shallow Body
I love this thing. As usual it takes a bit to get worked in and settle a bit. It's excellent if you like rock or metal music especially. To Amazon. I will stop leaving any reviews if your site continues to stop me mid sentence and not bring up my keyboard. I can only assume that it's the site as it happens nowhere else. I try and leave pretty detailed reviews if I honestly feel a products is good as I also do if it sucks. Fix it or I'm done. I take these reviews seriously for some odd reason and my time is valuable. I love the ovation shallow bodies. One other thing that they might not like but I could care less. There is little need for the Balladeer version in my opinion. It's almost twice the cost and I'm just not all that sure that it's better even if the money doesn't mean anything to you. I was going to get one but after researching it I found that I would have likely paid several hundred more for a guitar that wasn't going to be as good for what I do as this one is. I play rock and metal from the 80s and I play even the hardest metal riffs on it that one would play on an electric. It's great to work the fingers and learn how to be very good before even moving to an Electric. You will strengthen the hands, wrist and forearm with it and ironically it has been more helpful for my rheumatoid and psoriatic Arthritis than medications. Its therapy that moves what's called synovial fluid around. It keeps it from gathering up in one spot. So, learning to play is helpful and better therapy than therapy and it isn't as boring ... show more

    • Very Satisfied
Color: Multicolor Size: Super Shallow Body
Sounded and looked beautiful right out of the box. I quickly put some D'Addario super thins on it and that really woke it up. Sounds great plugged in too. I've wanted an Ovation since the old hairband days and I just love having this one now. It's not the same as the ones made back in the late '80s (made in China now, or at least this level is) but it's an amazing guitar and I'm more than satisfied with it. ... show more

    • No axe to grind here....
Color: Multicolor Size: Super Shallow Body
I own many expensive, high end guitars, this Ovation being my cheapest... but despite its price I love it, it looks, sounds and plays great. The trifecta is complete.

    • Durable and Good Tone -- until May 14, 2016
Color: Tiger Eye Brown Size: Super Shallow Body
Great looking guitar. Distinctive but good tone. I bought it so I could leave it around the house during the very dry winters here. A Taylor and a Cordoba cracked when I left them out of my humidified library. Watched Ovation manufacturer's youtube video that claimed an Ovation guitar could be left in the trunk of a car or a refrigerator and not sustain damage. Not that I'd do that but it seems a hardy claim. Just to test it before I bought another Ovation --- a nylon -- I left it in the garage for three days when the temperature dropped below 10 degrees F. Hardly even needed to be re-tuned. pretty amazing. Taking it to Italy in May. I'll report how it survives the airport handlers and changes in altitude. UPDATE: May 14, 2016 I'm in Tuscany, Italy and the neck separates from body as I'm playing this guitar which I purchased on February 23, 2016. Surprise, surprise. When I get back to the States next week, I'll see how the warranty coverage works and report back. ... show more

    • Great piece!
Color: Tiger Eye Brown Size: Super Shallow Body
So thrilled about this. I heard poor reviews but loved the design and researched the brand. It is a beautiful and unique piece and I have enjoyed playing it. I am a classical guitarist and this is a beautiful sound. This is my first professional like guitar and I couldn’t be happier. My first ever guitar was a $50 set up from Amazon so of course I am thrilled. Good construction. Good sound. So worth the money. ... show more
