  • Fine puzzle but better alternatives
Style: Level 3 (Advanced) Color: Dog Twister
This dog puzzle is challenging for my Boston Terrier. She is OBSESSED with food and claws this thing without stopping to think about anything but “I gotta have those kibbles.” She will not pull the white handles opened so I do that for her and then she moves the panels around with her paws. I literally fear she’s going to tear a toenail off or claw until she bleeds but it hasn’t happened yet. I also have to hold the middle down or otherwise she’s got it sliding across the floor. It has little grippers on the bottom but it doesn’t stay in place. We also have to put it up when not in use because she claws at it hoping to find a long lost kibble. This was her first puzzle and it may have been too challenging for her but no real issues with it not working. She did pull a panel off the first day but I reattached it without any problem. I would not buy again because she enjoys us hiding kibbles around the house & seeking them out better than the puzzle; plus hiding them around the house gets her moving for about an hour searching for “my precious” kibbles. ... show more

  • Tough, well-made and fun
Style: Level 1 (Easy) Color: Dog Smart Composite (Orange)
The 9 pegs have small holes in the tops for the treat smell to lure my German Shepherd Dog. At first she just licked the pegs (she’s so polite). I lifted a few to show her the treats (packaged salmon treats then cheese later). She knocked a couple pegs over with her clumsy walking around, which was fun, too, in its own way. When she gave up her licking I encouraged her by lifting some pegs again then when she saw the treats I replaced the peg. I let her take her own time, leaving it if she wanted. She didn’t leave it for long. Soon she tried opening her mouth around the pegs and let go, and sure enough, soon she figured out to lift the pegs off. The good thing is that she hasn’t totally figured it out. She seems to need to come to her own conclusions each time we play. Eventually she’ll get faster, but that doesn’t matter. I love the time she spends sniffing and licking. It’s all calming behavior for her. … She did want to walk away with the pegs in her mouth, but she dropped them when asked to. The pieces are very sturdy and should last forever if she doesn’t end up hiding all the pegs somewhere. :-) I recommend this for any dog. Some dogs you might have to play a little differently, like leaving the pegs at an angle, but that’s OK, of course. Nice brain game. ... show more

  • Our Dog loves it
Style: Level 2 (Intermediate) Color: Dog Brick
We have actually gotten a few of these puzzles for our one year old Bernedoodle. Some have been more challenging than others, but she has really enjoyed learning how to open all the compartments and get the treats. When she sees me get the box out with the puzzle she is always very attentive and excited. I always watch her when she is working with the puzzle so she has not had a chance to chew on the pieces. I think if you have a real chewer (she does have lots of chew toys she loves and have killed) that I would not leave the dog alone with the puzzle. All of these products have been worth the price. ... show more

  • Great puzzle, def not hours
Style: Level 3 (Advanced) Color: green
We have one beginner puzzle we got for our pup to exercise her mind. She is so fast with it it takes longer to reload than it does for her to clear. I got this one thinking it would be a pretty good challenge at a level 3. The description says it will keep your dog entertained for hours. It took her literally less then 5 minutes. I mean, it took her a minute to figure out how each thing moved but she went through it pretty quick. Not sure if this is others experience or Boone is just really smart but she definitely has a nose on her. The 51% beagle definitely reigns. Overall, great puzzle, was just hoping it would keep her entertained longer than 5 minutes 🤣 ... show more

  • Keeps them interested
Style: Level 2 (Intermediate) Color: Dog Brick
I have a 10 month old pitty boy who gets bored easily, which = trouble. He does well with redirection, so I bought a couple of these toys so I can have five minutes to chill. He honestly loves the puzzles… this one was a little harder for him, though, and he got frustrated after a while. He started to chew up the compartment lids, so I knew it was time to put it up and find a different activity. I definitely recommend these for enrichment activities. They make the dogs think and work towards a goal, and they do give their people small break. They do require observation, though, because dogs are dogs and will chew. Safety first 👍 ... show more

  • Fun way entertain
Style: Level 2 (Intermediate) Color: Dog Brick
Got this for my newly adopted German Shepherd 4 y/o (we think). She is super smart and needs intellectual exercise as well as physical. Every morning while I get ready for work, I put a variety of "prizes" in the compartments. Sometimes it full, sometimes just a few. She figured the puzzle out the 2nd time she played with it, but she looks forward to this exercise every day. Small treats, pieces of food, sometimes peanut butter, which keeps her busy longer. Worth the money. The lids do come off of the red blocks pretty easy but snap right back into place. ... show more

  • Ready to use, right out of the box. Don't mess with it like I did
Style: Level 2 (Intermediate) Color: Treat Maze
This is a great toy for small nugget sized chewable treats. Dog biscuits would get crumbs everywhere. Just put the treats in the center hole and let your dog do the rest. Our Welsh Terrier (same size as wire fox or schnauzer) has not destroyed this, so far. We have had it for almost 3 months. At first, he had trouble getting the treats out but eventually learned that just by shoving it around, flipping it, or pawing at it will make the treats come out. Don't try to remove any parts you can see around the edges. I tried to cut away a piece of plastic but that's part of the challenge to getting the treats out! ... show more
