  • Tough Little Skwerls
Size: Replacement Animals Style: Squirrel
I bought these at the same time as I bought the Kyjen Hide-A-Squirel toy as I have 3 dogs and I figured at least one of the squirrels would get lost pretty quick leaving the dogs to squabble over the other two reamining squirrels. Ironically, all three of these squirrels are still present and accounted for though they are showing a bit of wear at this point. They are also covered with dog spit but as they are dog toys that is to be expected. I have 2 medium sized dogs and one huge dog. Two of the dogs play with these toys EVERY DAY and after almost 3 months they squirrels are just now starting to show noticeable wear. My dogs love to dissect their toys and remove the squeaker. If I am on the ball I find the squeaker and tie it up in a couple of pairs of old socks and return it to the dogs. This solves two problems: 1. The dogs are unable to injest the squeker and 2. I no longer feel obligated to try to find the mates to those socks. The dogs also love the squeaky sock toys and wiill still play with the squeakerless squirrel toy carcasses so this is truly a win-win situation. At this point, 2 of the 6 total squirrels I ordered are sans squeaker. Three out of the six are showing any real wear. One out of the six total looks like new, probably because it has been under the dresser for the past two months. So, these squirrels are smart as well, or at least one out of six is of above average intelligence. Well played, Kyjen, well played. These toys and the Kyjen Hide-A-Squirrel toy were all a big hit with my dogs, even with the dog that could care less about them because when I throw a squirrel for the other dogs to fetch, the dog who doesn't play with the toys chases the dogs that are running after the toy and screws with the slower dog by latching onto one of his hind legs and making him fall down. So, these toys entertain the dogs that actually play with them, the dog that couldn't care less about them, and me. That's getting the most possible bang for your buck right there! This is the first time I bought any of Kyjen's products and I would absolutely buy Kyjen products again as well as reccomend them to my dog-owning friends. These are awesome toys. Yes, the squirrels are on the small side but I was expecting that as I actually took the time to read the product description before I ordered them. My dogs do not care that the squirrels are kind of small and I don't believe that the size of the toys has any impact on their durability or function. These are awesome dog toys. If you don't get them for your dogs you are not a fun person and it's highly likely that your dog pees on you as you sleep. I sure would. I mean I would if I were your dogs. Buy the damn toys already! *HERE'S MY REVIEW OF THE KYJEN HIDE-A-SQUIRREL TOY* This review is from: Kyjen PP01056 Hide-A-Squirrel Pet Toy, Large I have 2 medium sized dogs and one giant dog and two of them love these toys. The other one likes to play with other dogs much more than she does dog toys so I'm not really surprised that she isn't that into them. The wierd dog and the giant dog LOVE these toys and play with them daily. They have taken both the squirrels and the "tree trunk" outside, played tug-of-war with them and even buried them and the toys are still looking pretty good after a couple of months of rough, frequent play. Two of the squirrels are now without their squeakers as the giant dog loves to dissect them and remove the squeakers. This isn't a problem, I actually expected he would have removed all of the squeakers by now and I bought three additional squirrels because I really expected these toys to wear out much more quickly. I'm pleasantly surprised at how well they are hanging in there. Of the six squirrels I ordered five are present and accounted for and the dogs play with all of them, even the ones giant dog has disemboweled. Yes, the squirrels are on the small side. I was not surprised by this as I took the time to read the complete product description. I don't know how well other larger dogs would like these toys, my giant dog is touched in the head but very smart and he loves them despite the size. I have never ordered Kyjen products before ordering this Hide-A-Squirrel toy and the replacement toys and I am thrilled that the toys are of such good qulaity and that my dogs are getting lots of "play" out of them. Even the one dog that doesn't like toys that much is entertained by them as she likes to chase the dogs that are playing with the toys and try to chew their legs off as they run. All my dogs are entertained and entertained dogs are dogs that are not running all over the neighborhood humping everything in sight or chewing holes in my socks. I would absolutely order Kyjen products again and I would order from this seller again. My items arrived one day before they were due and were packed appropriately. I would also reccommend both Kyjen and this seller to other dog owners and have already told my sister about these toys and how awesome they are. If I could give this product and this seller more than five stars I so would! ... show more

  • Great toy to keep my 70 pound golden retriever guide dog busy
Size: XL Style: Squirrel
My dog requires lots of attention, like most golden retrievers. When I'm working and she gets bored, this game will come out and keep her busy while I work. We've had it for a year now and she still loves it and it's held up very well. Sometimes she will even grab the tank and just shake it like crazy. She's not very gentle with it but it's held up extremely well. She's not an extreme tour, but a powered tour and she has tried to chew the little fur off the top of the squirrel heads and Definitely choose on their tails quite a bit but I'm glad to say she's not torn any of them and she plays with it at least six or eight times a week I don't leave her unsupervised with it because I am worried she will get to the stuffing if I'm not paying attention. We even use the tree trunk to stuff other toys in it along with the squirrels to make it more challenging and make the game last longer. I'll throw in a hand towel and roll a squirrel up in the towel for an extra lengthy challenge. It's a great game for smart dogs that want to stay busy. ... show more

  • Wonderful time! Stump lifespan = 5 days
Size: XL Style: Squirrel
Our 4 mo old puppy LOVES this toy. He will play with the log as much as the little squirrels. The replacement squirrels will need to be ordered. I could wish the 'log' were made of corduroy or something stiffer. The plush material is a bit floppy. And a counterweight at the bottom to keep it "up" 06FEB Update: The Tree is dead. :( Bo ripped it last night. I'm going to take it apart, and remake it from buckram or corduroy, and weight the bottom. Bo LOVES his squirrels and now foxes. He had a great deal of fun taking them out, but the stump wasn't up to puppy QA. ... show more

  • Lasted since 2017, even with three bird dogs!
Size: XL Style: Squirrel
I’ve just ordered my third one…in nine years. All 4 of my dogs have loved this toy and oddly enough, never fully destroyed it. A chipmunk would occasionally get eviscerated but mostly they all just loved rooting around, pulling them through the trunk, and stealing it from each other. This last one has lasted (in slightly dilapidated form) for nine years! Not sure how, but this toy is good quality and beloved by all the dogs. The old man is now using the trunk as a pacifier so finally ordered another one today. After all, a $20 dog toy that gives years of play? Priceless! ... show more

  • Puzzling dog puzzle?
Size: Large Style: Squirrel
At 20 months were bridging puppyhood into adult dog hood. My pup reverts back to her early puppy moments were squeaky. Toys are all she really wants then rawhides are the only thing she wants then she doesn’t want anything. But I guess that’s the way of a dog. As for the toy, she found the tree trunk more fascinating than the squeaky squirrels. She seems to be protecting the squirrels like they are her puppies, but I think it’s a fact that she’s a girl dog not sure what that actually means but that’s what I’m dealing with. The tree trunk was pretty quickly shredded. I have to say that, but she is a big dog to be fair full standard 65 pounds. As far as the toy goes aesthetically, it is the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I have a friend who bought the same toy for her corgi pups and they played with it to this day and it’s been three years and they think it’s a really nice toy also but they found that the tree trunk was also in need of more reinforcement. Just note there, I think you have to gauge it according to how aggressive your dog is in the chewing department. The squeak were fantastic and the squirrels and they really are quite cute. My dog did find it fascinating the first few times I stuffed them in the tree trunk. I would buy this item again as a gift for another pet owner; chewing personality considered. ... show more
