What's great about this book is the background and thoughtful commentary on each project, as well as the background on this extraordinary husband and wife team. Each project is illustrated with numerous photos and a detailed discussion of the genesis of the project. My favorite was Dr. Thorp's house. Could not put this book down.     • Not what I expected....but...
I was expecting gardening ideas and a greater focus on landscaping. But wow--this is such a lovely book that I really don't mind. What a joy to see these artful, vibrant, and livable residences! While the work of Tichenor & Thorp is obviously reserved for very well (one might say, lavishly) funded projects and wealthy clients, it retains a warm, inviting, and human-scale vibe (something I often find lacking in expensive but "sterile" homes). Even if it is not in my budget, I greatly enjoyed strolling through these homes and gardens on the pages of this book, and finding inspiration (albeit on a much tinier scale) in my own home. ... show more

A stunning book! I was so excited for mine to arrive! Tichenor and Thorp are two of my all time favorite designers and I was over the moon when I saw this was available.
