  • Really delivers the goods.
Size: 5 x 120WPC Balanced Input Stage
Yup, this is a 50 pound beast. I am a senior citizen. I needed extra muscle from my senior wife.It delivers in sonic clarity and delivers the power to drive a 5.1 home theater. I purchased a Marantz Cinema 70s to pair with it's preamp section which is outstanding. The Marantz in 5 channel mode sounds less detailed when using it's amp in comparison. Wimpy.. Unfortunately, Outlaw no longer makes preamps. I have highly sufficient vintage JBL 8 ohm speakers, which can be driven to ear splitting levels.. This amp does not clip. I had problems setting up the Marantz and could not get sound from the unit.. Initially I thought it was the Outlaw. Contacted Outlaw, filled out a "ticket" and promptly was contacted by a tech. Turned out there was no problem with either electronic device. Outstanding bang for the buck. And it pairs nicely with the Cinema 70s. ... show more

  • Can't go wrong with Outlaw Audio
Size: 5 x 120WPC Balanced Input Stage
Little biased due to the fact that I am a prior outlaw audio customer. I own the Outlaw M8 subwoofer, the A/B amp on that subwoofer and the bass reproduction is second to none for an 8 inch driver. I bought the 5000x to go with Schiit Syn surround processor, it does the job very well producing clean clear sound. Build quality, sound quality is top line. I totally trust this brand. In terms of pricing, considering the balanced inputs, 5 channels and 120w x 8 Ohms, and good customer service in comparison to equivalent products, this is good value. My setup is mixed: Paradigm Studio 100 Reference towers, JBL Studio 230 surround, Monster Beatbox Center channel(powered), Paradigm Servo 15 Sub ... show more

  • Awesome amp!
Size: 5 x 120WPC Balanced Input Stage
I bought the Outlaw 5000 power amp because I'm buying new Magnepan LRS speakers. I sold my 35 year old Magnepan speakers a year ago, and have regretted it ever since. Nothing compares, but you need LOTS of power to drive them (I was using 100w Marantz Mono Blocks). Reviewers I respect said the Outlaw was a good amp choice (I'm on a 5 month wait list for the speakers). I currently have my old Velodyne sub (VLF 1012), bookshelf B&Ws (685 S2) for the front, and bookshelf ELACs (Debut 2.0) for the surrounds. It's a 14x19 room with a cathedral ceiling. I don't use the set-up for home theater - just music. I hooked up the Outlaw 2 days ago, using my 18 year-old Yamaha (RXV 1400) as a pre amp. OMG! For 2 days I've been listening to my music and hearing things I haven't heard before. Sound is powerful (even at lower volumes), crystal clear, with unbelievable imaging I haven't experienced since my old Magnepans. It's like I have a brand new system with better sound out of the bookshelf speakers, and clean, tight, thumping bass from the old sub. Based on my experience so far, I would highly recommend the Outlaw power amp for any system. What a difference an amp can make. ... show more

  • Excellent sound and build quality
Size: 5 x 120WPC Balanced Input Stage
I purchased this right before Christmas. I thought I had selected the 7ch but it defaulted back to the 5000x. Man for the price you will not find a more solid contender. I have been doing audio for 25 years. And this product is great for home theater. I have it running a center and surrounds and 4 height channels. And I couldn’t be happier. I can’t justify spending 2-3k on an amp to run surrounds. Front L and R yes for music but not the rest. This amp makes my center sing. I cannot find anything wrong with this unit what so ever. Just get it ... show more

  • It's a work horse used daily for over a year now.
Size: 5 x 120WPC Balanced Input Stage
Had over a year now. Use it to bi-amp my front towers and run my center channel. I have a cooler on top of it. Rarely see it get to 90f running it pretty hard. 90 is where I have it set for the fans to even come on. Great bang for the buck.

  • Issue with amplifier corrected
Size: 5 x 120WPC Balanced Input Stage
After only a year and 9 months of light usage this amp's right output failed and it currently sits with Outlaw for repair. I have to go through an return process and send it back to them for repair. Will update once I receive the amplifier back. Long process

  • The best component of my stereo!
Size: 5 x 120WPC Balanced Input Stage
This is my first review ever on Amazon purchases. I was initially pairing my B&W 606s with a Yamaha aventage rxa780 stereo receiver. The sound was good for the first 10-15 minutes of playing music and then I would start getting ‘fatigue’ from my stereo which wasn’t something pleasant! Also I’d get a lot of distortion in high volumes.. I knew I had to add a power component to my stereo, receivers are very complicated machines, that do many different functions but won’t make an audiophile like myself smile with the sound quality they produce! I decided to go with this power amp because of the reviews on Amazon and because of the relatively cheaper price tag, also because of the number of channels available. This amp makes my power hungry speakers shine every time I play music, distortion is an unknown word ever since I hooked it up to my stereo! I’ll buy again from Outlaw for sure! ... show more
