I ordered the 12mm x 20M rope for use in rigging when working on trails. Since we'll most likely be packing the gear in, I should have ordered the 8mm rope instead. As this package is quite bulky. I hope it'll just get used close to the trailhead, and not miles in. The rope itself is decent quality. However, I have to question how strong the end loops are. They appear to be stitched, but one can't tell much when it's all covered with heat shrink tubing. The included locking carabiners are cheap steel (heavy) with sharp edges. So I don't expect to be using those in the field. The included bag and gloves could be handy.

This is a thick climbing rope with shrink-sealed stitched ends, each end with a steel guard forming a permanent loop. Comes with weight-spec’d locking carabiners at either end. These are oval loop clips, non-directional. This is not a rope for knotting, it is too stiff. It is much stiffer than a floppy rope. This would be appropriate for hoisting a gear bag over a branch, the stiffness helps prevent tangling. I think this is a great value for the price. Comes with clips and a storage pouch, a cheat sheet for checking specs, and it looks cool with the blue and orange colors. Ready to use. Reliable performance at an attractive price.

The rope appears durable with well made loop ends. The 12mm is bulky and heavy, but I prefer it over the 8mm. I’m sure the 8mm can also hold my weight. I mostly descend, and seldom ascend. The included bag is handy, and the carabiners are good but they have sharp edges. This rope is inexpensive compared to pro brands.

So, I don't do rock climbing or anything of the sort. But I am a home owner. Having a two story house I'm often stuck with having to get on top of it. This is rope has made it safer and easier to traverse the top of my house whether I'm looking at me solar panels or cleaning gutters and even patching holes to keep out bats. This rope held up. I created some anchor points on the roof for me to hook carabineers on and I'm good. This rope is thick, and tough. I was able to make a swiss seatbelt for some climbing jobs. Good rope for recreation and work.
