I got this 73" tree to replace a way-too-big (bigger than listed) tree in a small corner. I guesstimated the full space requirement (god forbid any manufacturer actually tell you the overall size) and it fit nicely. I originally left off the topmost platform since it sticks out about 2" further from the back and right side of the platforms, pushing the whole thing out from the wall and making it feel very unstable, but ended up drilling a new hole in the platform for it so it would sit more in the middle of the tree, flush against the wall. Assembled as I have it, and not counting the basket (since you can twist it around to either side), it's 24.5" wide and 27" front to back. If you put the small tallest platform where it's supposed to go, it would probably be ~26.5" wide and 29" front to back. Another measurement that's not included in the pictures is that the base of the larger top platform (on the left) is 61.5" from the ground. (I was hoping it would sit above the bookshelf next to it but it's just a little too short.) For the price, it's a decent tree and designed well enough so that cats of different abilities will be able to climb up it (another major failing of the last one I had). My special-needs guy is unsure of jumping into the hammock so far but will figure it out, or he can jump high enough to go straight to the lowest platform that sticks out the front. The agile females were all over it as soon as I finished assembling it. I had to evict them a couple times so I could get it moved into place! They like the larger condos and large top platform. I put a little dog kennel mat bed in the top condo and the little guy even slept in there one night! I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the ridiculously-cheap design of the "condos". All the other made-in-China trees I've bought (many) had the fabric attached to the platforms, and you just wedge the support posts inside. This one has a fabric cover with an elastic string at the bottom that you have to stretch around the platform pieces. The holes in the fabric don't line up quite right with the holes in the top platform, and tightening the posts above them twists the fabric around. If you have active, nosy, chewing-crazy cats like mine, you have to take care to get the bottom edge with the elastic string underneath it before attaching the condo to the platform. My cats were trying to pick at the string within 30 seconds when I wasn't quite careful enough with the second one. That added unnecessary frustration and time to the assembly. It has a very small footprint for how tall it is, so it is NOT going to be stable unless you have it against a wall and use a wall mount. Even pushed into a corner where I have it, it was very wobbly until I attached it with a corner brace (L shaped bracket). I hate the stupid straps that companies include these days. Using those straps, tree will still wobble, tip, and probably even yank out a drywall anchor and fall if shoved with enough force by a cat leaping off it. Just mark the holes for the screws, drill a pilot hole into the bottom of one of the upper platforms, put a drywall anchor into the wall (or find a stud if possible and drill a pilot hole), and attach it to the wall with the corner brace. It's much more stable and won't wobble, tip or fall. I'd recommend it, but probably only if you're going to put it in a corner.

I have 2 cats & they jumped on this the minute I finished putting it together. If I get a couple of years use from it, I will be very happy, especially for this low price! Make sure you pay attention to the instructions when making the condos. The video on this listing is very helpful. The video shows you how to put the 2 condos together first. Then, start from the base & follow the directions. It comes with a strap to attach to a wall to ensure that it doesn't tip or fall over. My cats have been sleeping in the condos (caves) & the perches. There is also a hammock, so plenty of things for them to use. It is very high & over my head. If you look at one of my photos, you will see that it is over the doorway. My black cat loves & needs to climb & be up high, so this is perfect for her. My 2 cats are over 10 lbs. & this is perfect for them. It does not wobble when they climb or jump up on it. I highly recommend this product. Note: the colorful rope that you see hanging from it is something that I made for them to play with.

So this tree was a two week hassle. First box that came in had the base piece basically bowed and unusable. Put in for a replacement……and then the second box the two other base pieces came completely broken. Tree took about an hour to build. But after mismatching the pieces that were good from each box it was built and my cat loves it. So be prepared to have broken pieces. Would I order again no. But if you’re in for a headache and really like the layout of the tower this tree is the one for you.
