This item was an extreme surprise. It works like the demo and looks like it is made to last. I believe that it will do the job on flat aluminum or sheet metal. I am a little disappointed that it will not cut corrugated aluminum.

    • not worth the price of admission a second time
honestly i didn't have very high hopes for this particular style of tool, but figured that i would try it. i have spent more on far crazier things. the specs stated cuts up to 1mm steel plate, and it didn't quite manage to do that. at least not very well, or very far, with an 0.024" sheet. right out of the box the instructions were minimal. no assembly assistance. (honestly though, if you are purchasing fabrication tools you aught to be able to figure this sort of thing out, right?) the finish was decent, the castings looked clean, and the edges of the discs appeared to be nice enough. once installed into the drill, though, the tool started to seriously disappoint. lots of wobble in the drive mechanism, as if the drive shaft needed to be tightened somehow. full throttle and pushing hard i was able to cut into the material for about an inch before it came to a grinding halt. and when i say grind, that's exactly how it sounded. upon disassembly it appeared the ring and pinion drive design just did not have enough gear contact to transmit the cutting torque through the material. it appears the pinion was riding on the heel of the ring gear and the metal was just too soft, wearing away into tiny shards of metal "sawdust". so unless you are cutting lots of very thin material, i would purchase a much more suitable tool. something along the lines of a shear would be my recommendation. in summary, neat idea, poorly executed. really wish it were better, though. ... show more

I haven’t tried it yet because the stabilizer bar doesn’t reach the handle of my drill. I am capable of customizing a piece but, also of note, it’s metric so there’s that to consider.

Although the product seemed well built, it would not cut more than a couple inches before binding up. I believe mine was faulty.
