This 3.5 pound folding grapnel anchor works perfectly and keeps my kayak in place while fishing. This is a great compact anchor for small floating crafts like paddle boards or small inflatable boats. I ordered this anchor for my paddle board that I take out onto the ocean. I will often jump off the board with my snorkel gear to take a look around and this anchor keeps the board firmly in place so I do not have to worry about the board getting away from me. It is also nice to be able to have the board anchored in one spot to hang onto to have a rest when tired from swimming. The rope is 40 feet long, which is plenty deep for what I am using it for, and it has a small buoy incase the rope were to come detached from the craft. There is also a carabiner for attachment so the worry of detachment is nonexistent with this product. Another great feature is that it all packs up into a little bag that you can attach to a D ring while you are paddling around. The is a great item that is easy to use and very handy to have.

I have been thinking about replacing my 10lb mushroom anchor in my kayak. It is too heavy and cumbersome. Saw this one and thought I would give it a try. It seems well made and the finish appears to be tough. The rope is thick and easy to attach with the carabiner. Haven't lost an anchor yet but glad to see a small buoy on the end of the line if you accidentally drop the hole thing off the kayak it is not gone. I like the size and the fact that it locks open or locks closed. I was always concerned that this type anchor would get tangled and lost but didn't realize the zip tie was a breakaway so it could be retrieved from the bottom end. The carry bag and size makes this perfect for a small craft and look forward to taking the kayak out soon to try it out. Overall I think this is a good value for the money and would recommend it.

This is actually a pretty well thought out anchor kit, especially for paddle boards and smaller watercraft used on lakes. I like that the anchor material is not bare metal, so there is less chance of scratching or damaging an inflatable board while moving it around. The folding design makes storage easy and it does not take up much room at all. The included rope and buoy setup is also decent for the price. My favorite part honestly is the tear away retrieval design. If the anchor gets stuck under rocks or debris, the zip tie style connection can break away so the anchor folds up and pulls out from the opposite direction instead of being permanently stuck. Haven't had to test that feature yet thankfully, but it's a very smart idea and could save you from losing the whole setup. For kayak fishing or paddle board fishing on calmer lakes, this works great.

This folding grapnel anchor kit is a nice compact setup and seems very well built for the price point. Everything arrived clean and organized, and the anchor folds down nicely for storage without taking up much room. We are planning to use this on a roughly 400 lb CraigCat, and based on the size and design, it should work beautifully for that type of small watercraft. The included rope and buoy are a nice bonus and make it feel like a complete ready to use kit right out of the box. Overall, this feels very budget friendly while still offering solid quality and good value. Great option for kayaks, paddle boards, small boats, PWCs, or lightweight recreational watercraft.

I choose the 3.5lb variant for use with a fiberglass John boat used on local streams and rivers for fishing. Overall I like the anchor. The folding arms help keep it compact for storage yet still offer good holding power when folded out. The float marker is useful for showing where you are anchored if you allow the boat to float a little while fishing. Attached line is a little thin for my taste, see it as possibly snapping if anchored in rocky area and it rubs rocks. Would recommend for anyone with ligjt weight boat for stream/river anchoring. Just may need extra length of rope depending on depth of where you use it.

I got the 3.5 lb anchor due to how windy it gets in my area. 3.5 lb should hold it in place! I also like the design of this anchor. Kind of a grappling hook design. The long stem also makes it more convenient if tossing it when needed. Great you have a drop-down mechanism that contains the leaves of the anchor for easy packing. Also nice they included a float! The length of the rope, being 40 ft., should be more than enough too when anchoring. It's also nice you get to choose between four different colors. So overall, a well-designed anchor that will most likely outlive you or me...
