This is an absolute must-have accessory when kayak fishing in the shallow waters of the back bays for flounder (for reference, I am on the East coast and using a hobie mirage outback kayak). While yes, my kayak is capable of quick maneuvers, there's nothing more frustrating than hooking up a fish that takes you a little longer to unhook it. Before you know it, wind and/or current has carried you far away from where you landed that fish! You end up spending all your time and energy paddling back to the spot, when all that could be avoided if you had anchored in place. This mushroom anchor is my anchor of choice due to the geometry allowing me to dig into the mud, but it's also large and round so I won't get stuck in rocks. You simply just pull it right back up to disengage. I absolutely love that this kit comes with a drybag for storage; there's nothing worse than carrying gear that you might not need that trip but still have to end up drying if you got water splashed on it. Safety note: The huge advantage kayaks have over boaters is how shallow you can go without risk of getting stuck in the mud. Park the kayak using this anchor in an area that boats absolutely avoid to protect yourself from getting struck by a boater!

Setup: Tried these on a jet ski we use in the ocean with fairly strong waves near Shell Island, PCB, FL. The "sand bag anchor" was always a pain. When we first get to the beach, someone would have to hold the ski while somebody else explored for some big rocks. 10 minutes later we got an anchor... If you wanted to anchor in the sandbar areas, like Crab Island, also not easy. Review: This anchor is so much easier, pull up, pull out, done. 1) Fits nicely into jet ski cavity 2) The hold is incredible. Used all day long and had no issues at all / lasted the tides and never had to chase the ski down. 3) The anchor itself is high quality, The powder coating is thick and flawless and the anchor is very clean 4) The stainless spring clasp making it easy and fast to clip 5) The floaty makes it easy to see where to re-beach, re-attach Overall: exceeded my expectations on holding strength and quality.

I'm impressed! Not just with the anchor, but the rope, and the bag. Even the clasp is nicer than expected. The anchor weighs 7.6 pounds, according to my scale, which is close enough to 8 for me. To say it seems solid would be an understatement. The rope is looped off on both ends with an actual splice. That's a nice touch. And the bag is sturdy. It's padded and almost entirely airtight. I filled it up with air and let it sit for 4 hours, and it had deflated a little bit at the end, but it's definitely water-tight enough for my purposes. I did a submerge test, and at first I thought I spotted a pinhole, but it was just air leaking from the webbing handle. after that stopped, I opened it up, and found a completely dry interior. Most bags that come with products are immediately thrown away, but this one will get a lot of use. And the hook is great, too! What a chunky, beefy hook.

Ordered this for my son - he built a boat over the summer using storage totes and a redesigned/repurposed gas-powered lawn edging tool. This was the perfect combination of items for him. The anchor is compact and was easy for him to store, throw out, and pull back up. It came with a good length of rope with a buoy and clip already attached, and the dry bag was the cherry on top. We were all very happy with this well-made, well-thought out product, and although his boat didn't make it past its maiden voyage, the anchor kit will be with us forever! Great product, great price!

Small watercraft anchor. The 8 lb mushroom anchor is compatible with small boats (rowboats, dinghies), kayaks, canoes, small sailboats/optimist boats, small inflatables, and jet skis. The mushroom style is safer than many other anchors. I do not want to keep a foldable, metal-bladed anchor in close quarters on my canoe. The larger anchors have spread appendages and would be constantly in the way of feet in tighter walking spaces. I use mine with my canoe. It keeps me grounded in the wind at the mouth of a small cove with shade where I expect to catch fish. Spend your time enjoying nature, fishing, or swimming.

The anchor is a decent mushroom, with poly coating so it doesn't bang and scratch up the canoe. I like that it comes with a line already tied on and a hook on the bitter end. It comes with a little fish net float in the line, which is easy to adjust the position of. I really like the water tight bag that came with it. A good place to store an emergency blanket or dry change of clothes. Nice set. I would buy again.

The dry bag for storage is amazing to keep the anchor and rope in or you can use it for storage for other boating items. Rope and clips are quality and the anchor keeps my kayak where I need it when in the bay streams. The whole set is great quality and material. Nice buy for price.
